Yes, because memes are ideas, and ideas about short lived things are not going to stick.
I make video games. I would never actually spend time producing a "meme" game. It's so hard to make a video game I would never do it as some insular in joke, it would have to be something I was passionate about. Just because an idea sounds funny or appealing doesn't mean I'm actually going to dedicate myself to it, and most people won't especially when you consider meme games like this wouldn't make any money because if you tried to sell it this place would just call you a kike and pirate it.
