Honestly it's my favorite game for the gamecube, albeit that's clothed in nostalgia bias. Mario Galaxy got a sequel and it was essentially just a space version of this with, IMO, less charm.

If you get a chance to enjoy it now, I would recommend giving it a shot. Obviously tastes are different everywhere but Mario Sunshine just has a special charm to it, the world is beautiful, the tropical areas are fun and entertaining. The missions can get redundant sometimes but overall they're pretty clever and entertaining.
