But apparently with Denovo it's impossible to mod the files so there won't be any cheaters, if they ban my steam account? I'll make another account and "share" the game via Steam Family Share, something any cheater does in Dark Souls.

I think the main problem here can be boiled down to:
Discs have passive protections from the hardware which everyone accepts: i.e. you can only play PS4 discs if you have a PS4. You can take a new PS4, throw in a disc and it will work without ever connecting to the Internet.
But with PC you have more active protections in license checks which are more subject to breaking if some future problem occurs.

I don't know how long you've been gaming or hell buying DVDs, but buying a physical or digital copy of a movie or game entitles you to a limited license for the use of the game. You can watch or play the movie/game to your hearts desire but once you breach the terms of the license you are subject to legal consequences. Now I don't know how disc work for ps4, but as an example on Xbone if you buy the physical copy of a game you have to install it to the hard drive, and then when ever you want to play it you have to insert the disc so the console can verify the license. It's in this way that your license can be revoked, of course this requires being online. Another way is through changing the license on an account(gt/psn) which will prevent access to a game offline but only on that account.

8-10 gb patches are pretty standard nowadays. PS4 also requires mandatory installs and most games are around the 40 gig mark. Seagate must be raking in shekels since they're the only company with a 2 terabyte hard drive that fits the ps4.

Hard drives are cheap nowadays. I upgraded my ps4 with a 2 terabyte hard drive then put the 500 gb hard drive in my ps3 and put the 160gb hard drive in an enclosure. those 90 bucks where a really good investment in my opinion.

Japanese games are mostly what I enjoy. It'd be nice if Nights of Azure, EDF and/or Deception IV as well as other games like those would come to PC but it's really very unlikely. I don't know if I should buy this for PS4 or PC. I can deal with a little bit of slowdown (Bloodborne didn't bother me at all, and I only noticed slowdown after killing bosses), and I hardly meet the minimum system requirements for PC (3.4 Ghz i7-3770, GTX 660 Ti).
Will I be able to get 60fps on PC? DaSII was no problem for my rig, and if I'm forced to lock it at 30fps on PC, I'd rather just to play it on PS4 for the native DS4 support.

I think I'm glad I got done with this series. It truly did peak with the first Dark Souls. Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne were inferior to their predecessors. Looks like Dark Souls 3 is following in the later two's footsteps.
This series was only good during Demon's Souls and Dark Souls days because they were a breath of fresh air in such a stagnant industry at the time. Let's be for real here people. Let's just be honest and tell the truth. The Souls games were never really meant to succeed in the way they did. It was a complete fluke that this happened actually. I feel awful saying it since DeS and DaS are two of my favorite games but it's simply the truth. That Sony president was right in believing that DeS was a bad game so he didn't want Sony publishing it in America. I mean just think about why he would even think that. He had every reason for thinking that.
I'm telling you guys. The success of these games by From was largely a fluke, luck and very convienent circumstances. Part of the reason I even ever bought DeS to begin with was because it was something different and I was open minded enough to experience something different. From is showing just how amateurish, how lazy they really are. These games simply aren't properly evolving in the way they should now. This is why their faults are all too apparent to us now.

I had/have no interest in Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, or Dark Souls III. I played em, but they never conjured the same feeling as Demon's Souls back in 09. Sometimes it's better to be a one and done.
Bloodborne was pretty good, the DLC ruined it though IMO. It was fun to play but the atmosphere, area, story, etc... didn't meld very well. Getting rid of the Nexus killed the series for me because having an "interconnected" world of extremely different areas makes no sense.

Other anon here, I ve played every single souls, no dlc and also played all souls rip offs. Most recently salt and sanctuary. Still enjoying it all a lot, DaS2 just couldn't hold up the standard but BB came after it and was one of the best in the whole series. People obviously get burnt out but the games themselves just get better not worse, minus DaS2.
