Love all of those games though, aside from 5 and 6, those are trash. The reason why I like 6 more than 5 is because it's unintentionally hilarious at times, 5 is just boring and unplayable offline.
I played and beat Revelations 1 last year but I can't remember anything about that game aside from being painfully average.

Why would anyone say REmake is better than 2?
I say its because of the Mansion. The Mansion is maze-like puzzle box that you will have to trek across end-to-end while with limited supplies, sometimes needing to navigate past zombies because you cant afford to kill them.
RE2 loses this somewhat. The police station is close but the game overall is more linear

Remake has a ton of content. Its not only the mansion, you also have the caves, the house with plant 42, sharks, lab, etc.
There's a lot of variety of environments. Also as you said you can't go blasting your way through the whole game, you have to manage your bullets and the zombies. It feels more survival horror than 2.

And before you start, I played every game starting with 2 on release. Never really got why everyone is obsessed with 2 and 3, they really were just kind of alright, me and my friends weren't even all that hyped about them back in the day. Now 4 is the first really good Resi and 6 is the evolution of that, although it does have some problems. 5 is an abomination. And Revelations are just generic and tiny. No, adding backtracking to a mediocre game doesn't make it deep and good.

I'm not mad at you. I prefer the classic RE formula because I like that slow paced feel and feeling of helplessness, but I've probably beaten 4 more than any other re game and 5 and 6 are a blast in co-op. I can see how someone who's not a big RE fan would prefer the action focused ones.
