Everyone has an issue with race mixing. Koji confirmed it. There's also a gay couple in the Wanderer's Palace HM quest that was exiled for being interracial, and not for being gay.
Pipin looks older or the same age as Nanamo so that's just impossible. He's already confirmed as Raubahn's adopted son both when you meet him, and in the Tales From the Calamity short story.
