Because some quests gave you choices which give different rewards and some competition side quests as well.
Also doing a new party with enemies as your only source of exp is shitty.

The first game had some skills flat out not working, or working way better than they were supposed to.

Protector's Provoke was an example of the former, Medic's Immunize was an example of the latter.

Sub-class is OP. Encounters end in 1 turn if done right.

I really don't get why would they bring this, along with the Grimoires, back in EOV. Nto only you got 2 classes but you can buff them up. Just imagine how strong your melee unit would be even if it only relied in passive skills.
