I loved shovel knight a lot, and I loved the DLC thematically, but I hated playing as plague knight. The platforming was so convoluted and this might just be because I'm not great at platforming games, but the controls were awful. The shovel knight gameplay was perfect to me in pretty much every way.
Most of the time I just felt like I'm not inputting the buttons right when I fucked up, rather than actually fucking up the platforming. Only with plague knight. I don't know if I'm making entirely clear what I mean, but it kind of ruined it for me.

Anyone who has played plague Knight will know exactly what you mean. The strange flying by attacking always felt very imprecise, but it didn't ruin the game or anything, IMO

Plague Knight hit me harder.
Gameplay:
Shovel wins by a small margin just because of controls on Plague take time to get used to, but I loved making my own potions to adapt to the situation.

I liked Plague Knight more because he's just more mobile once you got the hang of the new controls. Blasting the fuck out of everything was neat.

I had more fun with Plague Knight's story, despite the levels not being designed around him. I don't know exactly what I liked more, maybe it was that I like characters who use bombs, maybe it's because of the playing as a villain thing, maybe I liked the story better, who knows.
Already cleared this on Wii U, is it worth another spin on 3DS?
