http://www.rockman-corner.com/2016/03/capcom-survey-asks-about-mega-man-11.html
Will it be out before Mighty No 9?
>no Inafune
It will be shit
I sincerely hope that they go with their original plan of making a new entry in the style of Bionic Commando Rearmed.
It was Inafune's idea to go full nostalgia and make it.
>MM11
>It'll be another NES romhack
>>331490964
kek
>>331490964
That's depressing
>>331490964
i wish that were real
>>331490847
Surveys are a dime a dozen.
>>331490847
cool, now when they don't make a new mega man they can blame the fans for not voting enough
>>331491264
They weren't in favor of it
>1UP: Was this game a hard sell for Capcom's decision makers? Did anyone express concerns over how the game would be received?
>HT: Management was supportive of the e-distribution idea but not of NES-style graphics. We heard lots of negative responses; they thought it would be better to make it 3D and that the 8-bit style would only appeal to the Mega Man fans, which would limit the sales potential. But we disagreed with this opinion. By sticking to this unique style, we believed that we could attract both Mega Man graduates and NES fans. We had different views, but eventually, management appreciated our spirit and desire to revive the 8-bit style.
>>331490847
I'd care if the game was done in Megaman & Bass or MM8 sprite style. But we would either get another NES cash in or 3D model fuckery.
>>331491264
Have you even played MM9-10, or are you just being a salty cunt?
>>331491242
Rearmed is fucking glorious.
>>331491852
>or
Can't I do both?
>>331491264
This, fuck the nostalgia bullshit. The classic series is done, use current technology to make a propper 2D game, fill it with secrets, alternate routes, weapons with different uses outside of combat, like MM7 if they had the time to fill it with all they shit they intended.
>>331491852
9 could have been as good as it was, and still been in updated graphics.
>>331492057
If you played the games and hated them, you wouldn't "just" be a salty cunt. You'd be an educated person with a reason for their feelings.
I'd still disagree with your feelings, of course.
>we won't get a Battle Network collection with Starforce bonus games or another Zero collection with the two ZX games
>we'll never get MegaMan Zero 5 where Zero is rebuilt
>nobody will take advantage of this and ask for MegaMan Legends 3
>We'll just get another redesigned MegaMan 2
>>331490847
>and more collections
FUCK RE-RELEASES AND JUST GIVE ME ZX3 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>331490964
Holy shit.
If only I could get google translate to work properly.
Shit won't translate after the first page.
>>331491167
>no Inafune
It will be good
>>331492247
I want a Battle Network Collection
Don't soil the Zero series by including those two mediocre pieces of shit in a Zero collection
Zero series doesn't need a 5th game
Legends 3 sucks
I'm tired of MM2 dick sucking
>>331491167
This. Hate whatever you want Inafune and his truthsworthy mustache but he what works and what doesn't from his perspective.
>>331491784
>HT: Management was supportive of the e-distribution idea but not of NES-style graphics. >NES fans
>Population: 0
Well, strangely enough, the management was correct. That said, it was fun to see new 8-Bit one time. MM10 being 8-Bit was a little much, though.
>>331492286
>Volnutt will never come back from the moon
>>331492165
i doubt it, i dont think they could have accurately ported over the physics
>>331491784
it's hard to think that there was a time where NES-style graphics were "unique"
>>331492247
>wanting a fifth Zero to ruin the ending
Just make ZX3 to tie up Advent's true end.
>>331491167
They aren't making vaporware so they don't need him.
>>331490847
Yeah sure and while they are at it they can uncancel megaman legends 3 and put out star force 4 and zx 3. All three of said series are not finished yet. Volnutt stuck on the moon, zx advent ended on a cliffhanger, and Duo.exe needs to show up in star force.
If they don't make it 8-bit, then you just know they're going to make it buttugly 3D models like Mighty No. 9 instead of what everyone wants: well-drawn HD sprites with a unique artstyle.
>>331492286
FUCK THAT
FUCK ZXA
EVEN ZX IS PISS SLOW, DID NOT AGE WELL
YOU'LL GET NOTHING AND YOU'LL LIKE IT
SAME FOR YOU, STARFORCE FANS, FIGURATIVELY AND LITERALLY THROWING EXE IN THE TRASH
>>331490847
actually a survey means probably nothing is happening. at best we have confirmation that theyre interested in something new mega man related and more mega man collections
>>331490964
this is a P4R article, it's satirical.
>>331492165
Megaman classic was most famous for his 8-bit games. Making a pseudo NES game was a stroke of genius. However, I would have been fine with MM10 trying something else, I guess.
>>331492496
They did it with 7, they did it with 8, they did it with Powered Up, Unlimited looked equally tight,
Pretty sure they could do it.
Looking at the Legacy Collection's concept art as me thinking. What if you made another Wily Tower game using the bosses that were cut from the final game
>>331490847
I'll believe it when the game's announced. And then I'll still remain skeptical until it's released.
>>331492331
Not real.
>>331491852
Not that anon. 9 was pretty good for coming out of nowhere and 10 is Meh. Unlimited is better than both.
>>331492615
YOU ARE RETARDED, HAVE SHIT TASTE AND YOU SHOULD KILL YOURSELF
>>331492615
battle network fucking ended, don't blame star force just for existing
>>331490964
>The third set concerns future collections, basically asking which past series (X, Zero, Legends, Battle Network, ZX, Star Force) you'd prefer to see collected.
You niggers better be voting for Battle Network and Legends collections.
>>331492496
>i dont think they could have accurately ported over the physics
There is nothing complicated about Mega Man's behavior that would make it hard to "accurately" port it.
>>331491784
>NES graphics
Fucking why, though? The franchise moved on from that already. Why would they move back to shitty looking 8-bit? Are they going to go back to the shitty midi music too?
Why does everything have to be crappy nostalgia bait scams? Why can't they just make an actual fucking sequel that builds upon the game? 3D would be stupid, but why not just have high quality 2D art? Something that actually looks nice and takes some effort instead of shitty 8-bit pixel art any dumbass could do in their spare time? The older games were like that because the developers didn't have a choice. It wasn't some 'artistic decision' to look like crap.
>>331491852
They were poorly designed games that don't compare to the good NES games. They sold on nostalgia.
>>331492840
>fan game with unlimited dev time making it for fun outdoes a in-house development team
Yeah, not the least bit surprising.
And 10 isn't nearly as bad as people say. It just isn't fucking incredible like 9.
>>331490847
Make a 2D sidescroller on home consoles and make a spiritual gameplay successor to Battle Network on the 3DS. BAM! Everyone's happy.
>>331492840
>Unlimited
>good
>>331492942
But those are the worst fucking ones. Battle Network isn't even a fucking megaman game. It's some card game RPG with loose as fuck megaman window dressing.
If we get a collection it should be shit that's actually relevant like X or Zero.
>>331493049
>MM9
>poorly designed
It is a legit contender for best Classic game.
>>331493109
>not just doing a Battle Network Transmission 2 based on the phone games
>>331492840
What's so special about Unlimited? It sucks. It even has the obligatory dumb Quick Man rip off every fucking fan game does.
It's nothing special but it gets its dick sucked all the time.
>>331493039
They literally just told you why
The devs wanted to make a game in the same style of the originals
Capcom wanted something more modern.
Capcom caved in.
>>331493168
It was pretty great up until the Wily stages. Those were just complete bullshit.
>>331493251
>But those are the worst fucking ones
The thread for people with terrible opinions is down the street.
>>331492840
>Unlimited
Holy shit the music fucking sucks, that game is mediocre at best
>>331493297
>phone games
>>331493312
It's a high profile fan game that's coming out during a time where there are no Mega Man games in development.
It gets unnecessary praise and dick sucking just for existing. It's not unique or special to any of the other fan games or rom hacks. It just came out at the right time.
>>331492840
>Unlimited
The level design is trash and there are too many cheap ways to die on stages like Rainbowman and Wily 3 (or I think it was Wily 3, the stage leading up to the Bass fight with spikes strung about randomly in a freefall section).
>>331493312
Not just Quick Man, that level specifically stole from RM4MI due to the refraction gimmick, except touching the lasers in RM4MI lightly damaged you instead of being a OHKO.
>>331492842
I beat ZX on Hard without taking any damage,
Like MMBN2 better than 3,
And will fucking stay alive to keep GOOD TASTE in tact!
>>331492872
Yeah, but hopping on the Starforce bandwagon just as it came out right after EXE ended instead of not buying it out of displeasure of EXE's abrupt end is shameful! We knew ahead of time that it was gonna play poorly!
>>331490847
>mega man 11
>high quality pixel art/hand drawn art

What if they use the sales of the Legends collection to determine whether or not they go back to Legends 3?

>>331493515
The game has items that prevent spike instadeath. If you don't have any by Wily 3 it's your own fault.
>>331493773
Quick Man stages are always 100% trial and error. It was dumb in MM2 and it's dumb in every fan game ever.

Then I played 3 and I started having a shitload of fun.
I 100% completed 3.
>>331492336
I don't understand what happened iwht MN9 but games directed by him used to have a reputation for being good.
Also, it's a false equivalence to say that the exclusion of him means it will be a good game. After all, this is Capcom we're talking about. A company that aso used to have a good reputation but now has a bad one.
2 > 3 > 4 > 1 > 9 > 6 > 10 > 7 > 5 > 8
>>331493946
Screen space was smaller. Mega Man's sprite was too huge. Less room to maneuver. Tighter screen area meant less platforming freedom.

>Still spouting shit opinions
Anon, control yourself. No one needs that garbage here.

Not him but I want a version that can actually be played in a modern resolution. Preferably on PC. And unlike the classic collection people wont give a shit if it leaves out anything post X5.

It probably would be. They'd be able to re use already made assets and save on time. Honestly I didn't mind Barret and Aero, they seemed interesting.

Goddamnit Capcom, stop with the collections, and give us MMBN7. Just start it off with the ending of MMBN6, but as a dream and have Lan wake up as a guy just out of college.
There's WAY too much untapped potential to just let MMBN end as it did. Not when the real world tech has practically caught up to MMBN's tech, the 3DS was practically born for MMBN, and the NX systems are coming out soon.
>>331494496

Where did you hear that? Disposing of assets is wasteful. There's no real reason for a company to ever do that.
>>331494917
>Poor guy just wishes Mega Man didn't get fucked over.
Poor guy is the reason Legends 3 was cancelled.
For a dream project, he sure as fuck gave up on it.
And Mega Man declined in sales since Battle Network 4's poor reception, which he was a producer of
The fact that Capcom kept the series around for several years and games well after BN4 is amazing.

>>331495051
Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins honestly looks like trash. The boss fights are way too frequent. And something about those aesthetics rubs me the wrong way. Also, the Strider remake was quite possibly one of the most boring games I've ever played. I can't believe I wasted money on that, even if it wasn't much.
>>331490847
> The third set concerns future collections, basically asking which past series (X, Zero, Legends, Battle Network, ZX, Star Force) you'd prefer to see collected.
Sweet. I could totally dig collections for these being released, especially if they're on PC. Although Mega Man 9 and 10 still need a release as well.
>>331495051
I thought Megaman 10 was better than people give it. It had pretty decent robot masters and great unique levels that kinda broke out of the NES limitations, while still looking like an NES game
>>331495048
I mean relevant to megaman itself. Battle Network is some cash in RPG that used Megaman's brand because they were afraid of just naming it as it's own IP.
>>331495182
Liked it as much as the original, but I still wanted the unused version to be his actual theme

I just didn't find the weapons to be as fun and balanced as 9's weapons.
9 really nailed the weapon design. They all had a legitimate use.
>>331495252
I'm telling you why in God's name I'd stomp on your opinion like that.
And that's to say, ZX was never good. Model X's gameplay was the only good thing that came of it, and that was just a fluid version of X2 where the charged buster can be shot while dashing.
The only purpose for a ZX3 would be to officially establish a link between C/X/Z/ZX and Legends.
>>331495312
How would this even work? Include a Robot Master Maker? Unique bosses is kind of crucial to the Megaman experience.

Oy vey. That's too much work for Capcom. They would just include a selection of Robot Masters from 1-10 to place in the boss room at the end of your stage.

Really, they were just using it as an excuse to cancel the project to spite Inafune, because that's how they work over there.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind that. I don't even see a problem with it. The level editor in Mario Maker is fucking amazing. I don't even normally LIKE making stages and it's fun to play around with. If Capcom were to release a Megaman Maker, I would buy it.

That was also being rushed out by Inafune trying to get too much exposure for Capcom to can it.
If they actually optimized the game, or made the demo focus on the custom character builder and whatever the weapon system or lead with the Capcom Crossover angle rather than "WOWEE MEGAMAN'S IN A GAME WITH MEGA MAN IN IT!!!!."
But instead the concept teaser was the high point of the game's promotion.

Kids shows are almost always developed to push merchandise. Merchandise they have ready at the same time the show airs, not 2 years after the fact.

>>331496723
That runs opposite the market strategy Capcom has always worked with animated series. They'll have a product released to cross-promote with it. Whether that's just merch, collections, or a new game; They're going to try to cash in as soon as their 24 minute brand ad gets picked up.
>>331496849
It worked for BN, the most lighthearted MM series to date. A good, funny tv show can work wonders in making kids interested in Megaman. Capcom's business isn't in making games for old farts. Especially not a series that has always been for kids.

9 and 10 were garbage, and both tried to pass themselves off as Mega Man games by pandering to nostalgia. 9 was shit because of the proliferation of minibosses that killed level pacing and poor level design that felt like Inti Creates made half of a level before saying fuck it and placing random bullshit wherever so they could hurry up and ship the game. The disappearing blocks gauntlet at the end of Plug Man's stage is the biggest offender of this.

I felt 9's level design was brimming with inspiration. Every level had some sort of interesting element it could call its own like Galaxy Man's teleport pads or Jewel Man's pendulum platforming. The worst thing about them was perhaps the overreliance on pitfall traps. I will concede that 9 played that card too often, but aside from that the levels were universally fantastic.
>>331497932
I finally got around to playing the BN series after putting them off for forever. Just beat BN1. Does this smooth fuck ever come back?
>>331497614
That's kinda what I'm saying though. What kid is going to see the cartoon, then see 11 on some shitty NES graphics catering to 'muh nostalgia' and actually want that shit? The show is targeting an audience that can't be baited with nostalgia because they weren't even around for it. With BN it worked because BN was a recent thing anyway and was actively flourishing even before the show. The merchandising, the games, etc. were all there to begin with and already catering towards a younger audience from the get-go. Most young children are not going to be into classic megaman for a number of reasons. The aesthetic, the difficulty, the lack of any narrative that actually correlates with the show, and so on.
BN is dialogue heavy, has cutscenes, and easily meshes with the show by merit of it being more story and character driven because it's an RPG. Actual megaman games are fucking action sidescrollers that are generally at least somewhat punishing in the difficulty department.
>>331498037
I know. I'm just stating an objective fact, bud.
>>331496569
Unfortunately, as a function of how bad the industry is hurting and in turn made the games combined with being a Business major, I have to temper that answer with "appeal" in mind instead of letting my imagination run wild (which is what Nintendo's been going through, recently).
So, what I'd do is:
*Mega Man 11 (console/handhelds)
HD graphics, dash and wall-kicking, Robot Masters new and old are not "____ Man" but just modernized robot concepts of their themes (though can still have a gender), Mega Man's design is also streamlined, and he's big into sports with Mega Man Soccer 2 for mobile later, story is briefly about how Doctors Light and Wily circumvented the "Forced Termination Date."
*Megaman Battle Network X (mobile)
In addition to a story mode about Patch and Mega Man/X, make your own Navi that can also battle online/with friends instead of being forced to Mega Man's setup, created Navi will also set alarms and do other Net Navi-like things for you IRL.

>>331498206
What is your argument?
A new game won't be a nostalgia cash in. It'll be a TV show cash in. They're not going to attract children with a completely unrelated game. It's going to be a brand synergy deal.
The real question is if the TV show will be modeled after the game or the game modeled after the TV show.
>>331498206

Same can be said for their other games though I do think the others like ZX, MM10, and even ASG by a hair fare a bit better. But that's why it's so damn surprising that I like MM9 so much - it's the one time I feel Inti Creates absolutely nailed level design, way better than any of their other efforts and a shining beacon of quality in the classic series. I feel like they caught lightning in a bottle on MM9.

>>331499128
Yes, but not in this context.
What's wrong with either of those games? That's like the best routes Mega Man can take, considering the franchise was flopping and failing in its latest iterations.
Mega Man Soccer is a retroactive godsend as the American consumerist market has and will become more and more multi-cultural and Latin-influenced, which is a perfect avenue for Mega Man to find favor. Sports are also something active, and a humanoid character participating in them not only gets kids' minds in the imitation mode BUT ALSO allows Mega Man into things like the Olympics videogames and keeps his bond with Nintendo and Super Smash Bros.
Flipside, you've got Battle Network for mobile, and who the hell doesn't want that?! Much less your own Net Navi assistant. All of which can be called newer things.

I dunno how I'd feel about a X9. The series was on a consistent downward swing after X4, but then X8 comes out of fucking nowhere and is actually a decent X game, not to mention Command Mission was a perfectly fine RPG spinoff. Like if we got the devs who pulled that shit off to make a X9 I'd probably be cool with it but it's been like a decade since those games. Who knows if they're even feeling that minor renaissance quality anymore.

Ignoring the downward spiral in the middle, X's core mechanics are some of my favorite. Also, CM gave us a slew of new characters and made the setting interesting again. I believe they could at least achieve X8's quality.
They should outsource 11 to Tokuro Fujiwara.

I really need my fix of X. X8 was a terrible way to leave off at. the PS1 games were the last good X games.
Command Mission was good of course, but that's a spinoff.
Honestly what I miss is how simple the plot and world for X1-4 was. X5 started a horrible trend of making everything way bigger than it had to be. from thereon out it became angsty and THE WORLD IS AT STAKE kind of shit. X6 is surprisingly simple in the plot, but it's still a sequel to X5's colony drop bullshit. X7 was literally X4 2.0 only not as interesting or fleshed out, and X8 was yet again just too complicated.
just give me a couple of renegade reploids and former Hunters who decide to turn on Humanity, with sigma at the top. No charades no hiding behind a red herring, no mystery. it's just fucking sigma.

ZX's story was sub-par, and the gameplay was, too. ZXA itself played so poorly, the music was so limp, the story was such trash, that no combination of it would make me want a sequel. ZX3 would have to be some on-point shit.

I'm fine with that. Honestly, I haven't been arsed to even finish 3. After playing 1 & 2, dealing with all the linear hallways and waves of enemies popping up every 3 seconds got old. I'm probably one of the few people that liked 1's weapon level mechanic though, however counter-intuitive to pacing its implementation was. It wasn't the worst idea but it's a poor fit for an action platformer, but I wouldn't mind seeing it in a Megaman action RPG.

Well. It turns out that auto topup is a bit buggy. It takes a 30 cent "processing fee". Normally this wouldn't be a problem if you're buying stuff $5 at a time, but its DEFAULT BEHAVIOUR is to top up your account when you are short by - get this - exactly 30 cents' worth of capcom credits.

>>331500885
>X8 was good, it just ended on a cliffhanger.
Now I like X8 but... the story is completely sideways. Sigma has turned his programing complete with his ethos into a program inside of a race of reploids that can assume any form, including his at will.
Unless they all died with Sigma did through some entanglement that never got mentioned; this may be the most damning thing to happen to the world up until that point in the franchise; creating an uncounted number of copies of the world's most pervasive and greatest villain.
Now what it DOES do well, which I don't think any mainline game since X3 has; is paint a working and enjoyable group dynamic for the hunters. Which isn't nothing, if anything characterizing is more important than the minutia of X, Y, or Z plot to destroy the world.
>>331501315
If music was the only part not coming together I'd say the game as a whole is worth while. But that's just me. The anon's wording was
>perfect in every way, except that the music had to be the shit Midi that we got in the first and actually worse
A car can still be worth using if the radio is busted.
>>331501392
6 is definitely good. It unfucks a lot of things.
>>331500885
the more I play X8 the less I like it. there's just too much wrong with it.
the models, are horrible. Everyone has clamp syndrome.
the redesigns are ok on paper, but shit in execution. X and Zero particularly, though Axl looks better. Alia is nice too.
they ruined Zero's helmet
the level design is not the best. there's a few good ones, Booster forest is the best plain one, the rest are really gimmicky. some of those gimmicks are good, (the minigame one) and some are shit. (the not one but TWO ride chaser levels)
everything is a shop upgrade, even Heart Tanks and Sub tanks. If you didnt need to have Dr light give you the armor, they would have made that a shop upgrade too. And most of them are not well hidden.
the music was VERY samey. there was almost no variety. Most of it was the exact same sort of electric rock sounding fare.
the story feels a bit obtuse, and the way they explain the whole gimmick is very bad.
I mean it was a fun game, but I feel it has way too many problems that the more I play it the more I see and they annoy me.
>>331501606
I don't see how the story is any worse than any other Mega Man game, X or not. This is a series where things like "EVIL ENERGY" is treated completely seriously.
>>331501560
>How are humans being impacted by the crazy bullshit going on?
This is something that bothers me too. The plot is so reliant on "Rebelling against humanity." Well, where the fuck IS humanity? The only non-reploid we ever meet between X and ZX is Dr. Cain.
>>331501606
Correct me but the point was that SIgma thought that New Age reploids were his slaves because they had his RNA whenLuminejust stroked his Ego by creating Sigma copies. Sigma "code" was the reason they went Maverick but it also made them immune to ever controlled by SIgma.

Does it? The Maverick Hunters are always looking at shutting down 8 facilities on an island or in a canyon. They're trying to save single cities from maverick outbreaks. Sure Eurasia happened; but that was still a single, city-sized target that happened to be used like in Gundam.

really? i'd say the villains while designed very cool, were not the highest point in the game. Berkana especially.
how was Xtreme 2 ass? Xtreme 1 yes, but Xtreme 2? I thought that one was great. Particularly since the stages weren't all 1:1 their SNES counterparts, but most were slightly tweaked for originality. Plot was more consequential that Xtreme 1, (it's even referenced in X6) and ties into X4 well too.
also the upgrade system was great
X + Rapid fire enabled + Buster+, + speed shot + Ultimate buster = rape. pure rape
>>331501682
That's a wholly different analogy than the one I used.
A car doesn't need a radio to function.
A game, creating a fictional world, needs sound effects and arguably music (not that real life has music).
Fine, if you're both hung up on that, replace it with graphics, or give the best Castlevania game a story on par with Twilight or such.

thats because there really aren't any bigger threats than Sigma. I mean really everything was fine till he rebelled. rest is sort of standard procedural stuff. not the kind of thing you can make a good X game out of.
besides, you can still have other villains involved. X2 had the X Hunters as your main antagonists, X3 had Doppler, X4 had Repliforce, X6 had Gate, etc etc. its usually a bit more in depth than just Wily with a beard. Gate for instance, acted of his own accord. he was insane, but he acted on his own, not because sigma told him to.

>>331502404
Yeah and in X5's intro stage the Maverick Virus goes global (Implying that was why the New Age Reploids were invented in X7) because they destroyed a statue, fuck knows why doing that infected the world but X5 was pants on head retarded anyway.

I can point out shittons of objective flaws in the gameplay. The easiest thing to point to in ZX is Fistleo's stage design, and then the uselessness of the boss transformations in ZXA (not to mention ZX's charged attacks take weapon energy).
Music, the technical quality was a bit poor. DS and all. Still, the rest of that is subjective, but I don't exactly see a lot of love for ZX music whereas Classic and BN get shittons of remixes and memories (respectively).
yay, more 8 bit indie shit
>>331493039
>Something that actually looks nice and takes some effort instead of shitty 8-bit pixel art any dumbass could do in their spare time? The older games were like that because the developers didn't have a choice.
First of all, there is no way Capcom is going to greenlight beautifully hand-drawn graphics for a downloadable title.
Secondly, I think you're shitting on 8-bit a little too hard. It may be dated, but it certainly isn't easy to just shit out good looking NES-style pixel art. It's a recognizable style, and a very important part of Mega Man's history.
Thirdly, MM7 and MM8 always seem to have pretty mixed reception. Going back to the roots was probably a good choice at the time.

In premise the NGR's default defenses should prevent any Virus infection including Sigma from ever being able to corrupt them. But they chose to infect themselves with viruses despite their failsafes. So, while Lumine might not be susceptible most of the others should've been. Or if they were infected but still had control of themselves they're at the very least still a virus carrier, and not -as half-hearted comments suggest- conducive to a scenario where Sigma truly died.
>>331501820
First the X series is premised more serious. So when conceptual flaws emerge; they're held given more scrutiny. Especially when the plans and technologies are given a fair amount of explanation.
9 > 3 > 2 > 10 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 1 > shit > 7 > 8

I hate Sigma. I think I tipped over standing him in X4. Having an arc villain is fine; having a face-template to apply to every random boss a series uses is sickening. I hate his contradictory motives, I hate his nonsensical plot developments, and I hate how no actual unrest occurs unless he's somehow damaging reploids to make them revolt.
>>331502616
But "SIGMA ALL ALONG" undermines that and is in complete contradiction with X's more story approach. Sigma should be relegated to bonus secret boss if you absolutely need him to show up. We've seen many capable bosses who weren't him.

All the faggots on /v/.
They employ some great artist and musicians, but whoever is behind the designing part of their games need to be fired.
They're mostly bland and mediocre. They come up with ideas and execute them horribly and a majority of their games suffer from poor pacing and terrible flow. Pirate's Curse is probably the only game that is just slightly above mediocre from them.
If Wayforward has to work on a Mega Man game, then I would just put them on art and sound duty. Keep their designers far away from the project.

>>331504352
Didn't Power Stone only do as much damage as a lemon? Why would you use it on something with a lot of health?
>>331503381
Artoon should do it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAtd6NBvVA0
Imagine a Megaman-style song like this, would be gold.
>>331500542
let the poor fuck turn into a biometal at peace
>>331495331
Do you think somebody would just go on the Internet and lie?
>>331504949
>Arto-
I didn't even need to read the rest of the post to know where you were going with this
>Use Cloud Man's weapon on Spring Man.
>He becomes fucking magnetic.
I wish they did silly shit like this more often instead of "weapon does big damage/little damage/no damage"
>>331504949
I agree, and just look at the epic boss fights they can make:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP9HG9hHy8o
It's perfect for Mega Man.
>>331504927
because it can hit two or three times with one shot
>>331502779
Such as?
Yeah, the fistleo stage has a segment that sucks but it's over in less than 5 minutes and almost every game has "that" stage or segment
The transformations in ZXA had their uses, some more than others but still had uses
ZX had weapon energy for boss acquired powers like most other megaman games in the past and they used it. why is that so surprising?
>>331505118
I have got to try this now. Even from the start I've only ever done buster only runs.
>>331495891
Someone needs to explain how Mega Man just can't leave Elysium.
They have a ship up there; Geetz. They just deleted its AI, but either Yuna or Sera could download into it and activate it again.
>>331505118
Pic would be better with coffee pouring down his chest.
>>331505167
what the fuck did I just watch
>>331503136
You're too hard on 7. I hated 7 at first because I played it after binging on 1-6 and it was too different regarding things like sprite size, but much later I played it again without having played any 8-bit MM games for a while, and I enjoyed it a lot more.
Didn't care for 8 too much.
>>331505167
The fuck did I just watch.
>>331504949
I think you just described
https://youtu.be/kPO5eLe0gJI
>>331505118
This. Weapons so bad they make the boss react in terrible ways are great. Remember Freeze Man's weapon against Freeze Man?
>>331505167
fuck did I just watch?
>>331505649
remember using crash man's weapon on heat man?
>>331505118
Mega Man 7 was full of little shit like this.
It's why I personally loved it.
Everyone hates it though.
>>331505167
I fuck watch
>>331504478
have you played literally any x game other then the first, like, three?
Have you heard of the Repliforce?
>>331505118
Someone there was paying attention in science class.
>>331490847
Enough classic, gimme Megaman X9!
Though, beggars can't be choosers at this point with Megaman.
>>331496025
>What is Mega Man 6
>>331497320
>4, 2, 3
I would hang out with you.
>>331506008
X5 has VIRUSES ALL OVER
X6 has Gate find and pick up a virus then go Mad Scientist laughing
X7 had Red Alert be more or less harmless do-gooders-for-hire before Sigma started messing with their code.
X8 had the New Generation Reploids want to evolve and expose themselves to the Virus and willingly follow Sigma.
The only possible exception is X4, but the Repliforce had Sigma on their Space Station. Colonel was in contact with Sigma, and at least 3 of the 'distractions' were wearing Sigma's insignia. So while they weren't quite up to Bender's level; they were sipping on the kool-aid.

I like how the weaknesses sort of made sense this time.
>Shoot Soundwaves at Shademan
>He spazzes out because he's part Bat
>>331506602
Oh and that example isn't a weakness I just like how using his own weapon makes him act differently.
>No Inafune
>Minami is running Platinum along with a chunk of the talent responsible for past games
>Inti-Creates will likely do Romhack shit again
I don't see how they're gonna pull it off without outsourcing.
>>331506934
Yeah? Most Megaman games in the last 15 years have been outsourced.
>>331506096
>>331506096
>>331505118
This kind of stuff is why I like the SNES games.
You catch the boomerangs and your Weapon Energy goes back up.
Enemies hack you, and selectively disable your abilities.
Fire doesn't work under water, it either burns out or creates a ripplewave.
Ice effects get bigger under water
The bubble shield lets you jump higher under water
Acid neutralizes or bounces off the top.
Most Exosuits don't work underwater
Taking a dashing jump off a moving Ice Block can double your speed
I wish we'd get weapons affected by reverse gravity and vacuums or such.
>>331507056
How do you outsource nothing?
>>331490847
doesn't mighty no 9 make this irrelevant? related question, in which games in the series is it a trope that you get bonus rewards for killing bosses without taking damage?
>>331507056
Mega Man Zero was done with Natsume and frankly they needed the work and ARIKA was old Capcom talent anyway, so Network Transmission gets a pass.
What other games are you referring to?
>>331507395
He's probably talking about X-Over and the iPhone X game.
>>331507284
No. If anything, MN9 makes the need of a new Mega Man game more urgent.
