This is a smart move. If both systems play close to enough of the same games, people will naturally gravitate to the cheaper one.
Casuals don't give a FUCK about Bloodborne, maybe Uncharted 4 but it's a tough sell to those that only play stuff like FIFA or Madden or yearly generic titles from Ubisoft or EA.
A sale is a sale, Microsoft and Sony don't give many fucks if their games sell more or less, just as long as they sell consoles.

Ehh, I'm not the fence about this. A new rendition on Xbone wouldn't necessarily mean it would sell more. Ideally, if it does the samething as the original Xbone with no new benefits, those that haven't jumped in yet, plus Sony is reportedly doing that right now so M$ would be playing Ketchup. I'd be a better marketing strategy to just cut Xbone's price down by $75, then spending more money on a new model that STILL wouldn't sell well.

Need to sell more consoles, to sell more games, to sell more online passes. You speak from theory, but math doesn't lie. Multiplatform titles sell more on PS4, than Xbone. Sony has more people online, than Xbone. It isn't cause their online store looks nicer anon.

I bought a PS4 exclusively for Bloodborne and don't regret it.
GOOD exclusives do sell consoles micucksoft. Waiting till 2017 to get the only promising stuff you are offering like Scalebound out just gives that much more time for people to get the competition first.

And why did you bring up the shitty console war here? I'm PC master race, I couldn't care more about how you can't sleep easily at night because the other console is better than yours. But what I am saying is that both Sony and Microsoft sell cheap pieces of hardware to make it up by selling software and online.
So, any Xbone exclusives worth getting? Anything worthwhile gonna be released in the near future?

Not necessarily, Nintendo and MS tried this with the GC and Xbox and everyone still bought PS2s instead. The GC dropped to $99 and it still didn't help. Aggressive price cuts won't always help and can actually hurt.

This is what MS has been trying to do with the Xbox brand from the start, sell the console at a loss and make it up with software, subscription fees and later DLC. But it didn't work and MS lost billions, Sony did the same shit with the PS3 and lost lots of money too.
