On a side note I found it so fucking ridiculous that after 3 games they still couldn't implement a skip cutscene option.

The mild enjoyment you get out of 3 (mostly at the very beginning in space before you crash on the ice planet) is not worth tainting the entire series for. By that point it's no longer Dead Space, just EA brutally raping the Dead Space corpse.
The series ends perfectly with 2.

Obviously. 1 and 2 are excellent and I believe everyone should play them. 3 however, is optional in my opinion. You can clearly see that EA tightened their grip on Visceral in the third game. It's an decent game but didn't really feel like dead psace anymore.

DS1 is pretty good, maybe a little sated on the graphic's front but fun nonetheless.
Haven't gotten to DS2 yet over the 3+ years I've owned it on Steam.
DS3 I tried co-op with a buddy during one of the Origin sales. The crafting and weapon mods seemed to be a bit deeper, but very grindy and microtransaction heavy. Plus we only played for about 45 minutes before we got bored, so there's that.

Going from playing 2 great games to a game that is just painfully mediocre but then also shits on a lot of the stuff in the prior games it's quite understandable if people don't want to end the series on a sour note.
Now maybe you're amongst the crowd EA tried to appeal to with 3 and thus got more enjoyment out of it than most, that doesn't change the fact what it did. The list of negatives is just too long to count

I know 3 has issues, a lot of issues, but it did have its moments.
When you're first floating in the derelict shipyard outside the Terra Nova, the graphics are absolutely fantastic and you really do get the sense that you're drifting in space.
1 is good, 2 is great, 3 is eh.
1 and 2 should be easily pirateable.
