What are you currently playing on your 3DS?
Have you upgraded to a New Nintendo 3DS yet?
Took a long break from my 3DS for about a month and a half at least. Got motivated to get back to it when I found a copy of Pokemon X for 10 dollars. Once I beat that I went back and decided to finish Fire Emblem Awakening and it turns out I only had about 2 or 3 chapters left. Then I finished NSMB2 since I only had a world or two left.
Now I need to finish Alpha Sapphire and start Rune Factory 4 plus Fire Emblem Conquest. The only problem is that I feel like I'm going to get tired of Pokemon. Not sure what to start next

From what I know, every installment of the series is usually a standalone HOWEVER if you aren't into farming sims, then it's hard to get into it. I'd say emulate a GBA title first and see if you'll enjoy it before buyingunless you're pirating
Rune Factory 4 is also a good alternative since it has RPG elements
Just hacked my Fire Emblem Fates 3DS XL. All is right in the world. Now to find people to play all of these great games with.
Just upgraded from a 2ds to an n3ds (the Pokemon 20th anniversary edition). I want to homebrew the 2ds or whatever it is called to be able to pirate games on it. Where do you actually get the pirates games from and how does all that work?

You sure showed me with those hot opinions anon. It looks pretty cool since it's see-through, plus infinitely more comfortable to use than the 3DS/XL/N3DS/N3DSXL. Only gripe is that I'd have to buy an actual case since it isn't clamshell but that's fine since it's still cheaper than the newer shit.

Feels very old-school in the sense that there can sometimes be incredibly high difficulty spikes and although the bosses aren't nearly as difficult as certain waves of enemies they're really cool designed and you never really know what they're gonna throw at you.
It's one of those games I see having a lot of replay value, and with 4 different classes and a shared inventory I'm sure it will.
When you start up you can only play in the "Dawn" difficulty which I'm guessing is normal, but this is already incredibly challenging at times so I'm guessing the shared inventory is so you can start a new game with a different character at a higher difficulty when you already have some of the rarer armor/weapons.
On top of that the sprite art is really fucking pretty for an eshop title.
I wasn't sure at first but now I definitely think it's worth the 15 bucks.

If you want better 3D effects, accessibility to Amiibo, C-Nub, and slightly better battery life. Unless your XL is shot and you really need something new, I wouldn't recommend the N3DS since it just isn't worth the upgrade especially since it has no exclusives.

2DS just arrived to Japan with the PokƩmon bundles. The removal of 3D and stereo brings costs down. It is also Nintendo's final attempt at a Gameboy system.

if you live in an area with meijer, their returns policy is 30 days, no questions asked. shop there. in fact, shop there for everything, they're awesome.
why would you need to buy a 2ds though? recovery mode your existing device to 10.7 and then just use oot3dhax with a powersaves. powersaves is like $10, way cheaper than a 2ds. research the process before getting one, though. it's better you know what to do in advance.

The 3D was a gimmick before the N3DS. Now I find it hard for Nintendo not to include it going forward. It improves the visuals and experience immensely by making the screen look larger and more vibrant. Perfect technology for a handheld.
As the tech also improves, as seen with the N3DS, the headaches are much less of an issue too. I played XBC for literally 5 hours straight with 3D set to max and no eye strain. I couldn't play a game in full 3D for 20 minutes on my O3DS.

Been playing through Rhythm Heaven: The Best+ a bit more tonight. Anyone that's waiting for the western release has a fucking fantastic final remix to wait for.
I think I'm gonna take the Rune Factory 4 eShop backup I made from my NA N3DS XL's eShop account and install it on my Japanese system later and transfer the save data. I really do prefer the smaller N3DS by a significant margin.

Trying to finish up one last Fire Emblem Awakening run, at least checking out all the children's conversations with their parents before I hang up the game for good. I had some bullshit luck where an enemy appeared from offscreen, attacked Chrom, retaliated damage with the Counter skill it had equipped, and suddenly dropped him to such low HP that the next guy offed him. FE is well known for frustrating bullshit but that's enough for one night.

Playing Ace Attorney Trilogy I use the 3D set to minimum. The backgrounds are still easily visible but it makes the characters seem "in front" of you while the dialogue box is in front of them flat on the screen. It's really fucking neat.
I love how some games function better at different levels of 3D and it's perfectly adjustable.
All the talk of FE Fates made me want to see if I could get back into awakening. Needed a break from MH4U and Super Mystery Dungeon's endgame is pissing me off.

you can use safesysupdater's checker to verify you have the correct firmware files, but don't actually do the downgrade with it, safesysupdater causes a lot of partial bricks.

I recently upgraded from a 3DSXL to the N3DS Pokemon Bundle.
If you care about 3D, its worth it. I went from never using it, to using it all the time, and it's pretty awesome. MH4U runs soooo much better now too. Menus load faster, eShop is way faster. The system overall is snappier.
I see it as more of a QoL upgrade, unless you really want to play Xenoblade or BoI. Amiibos can be used on the old systems with that adapter thing.

Framerate issues are only on battles and noticeable during certain camera angles when idling, iirc. Between Ruby or OR, i'd say the newest one, you have all pokemon. Yeah, I got the nip N3DS back before the downgrades were a thing. My thought process was if I was lucky I'd be able to install CFW on it (I was lucky, as it came with 9.1J) but if I wasn't lucky, at least I'd never have to worry about my growing group of imports becoming useless if I accidentally updated my homebrewed N3DS XL.

The pay to play model in that game is crazy. I can deal with the energy limit and waiting a minute per block filled in since I have Picross e1, Mario's Picross 1, and Mario's Picross 2 to keep me busy, but paying Picrates to access news areas and punishing the player for not using Pokemon, which gives hints, is not OK with me. I did the guide for my 10.6 O3DS, and stopped at the end of part 3, when I had unlinked my NANDs.
Then, go to the retard guide on pastebin and go to the steps for dumping health and safety. Then load up big blue menu as that's a much more reliable way to install .CIA files.

I don't think I've been so into a video game in so long. I've been a "tired" gamer for years, and it invoked so much joy and exploration like A Link to the Past.

I think they are better Gen 6 games, but they're also rather underwhelming R/S remakes that don't really incorporate any Emerald elements at all in contrast to HGSS. It however does technically have metagame-related features not present in XY like the additional megas and primal reversion.
Kinda disappointed that Sun/Moon will likely be Gen 7 when Kalos really needed a Z iteration or something to polish it up.

Tried liking this game. It was incredibly repetitive with little incentive to grind. Teleport to closest area, walk through three of the same hallways, get to boss, it does like 3 easily avoidable attacks, get loot, repeat on next mission.
The bosses don't escape to other areas, they don't appear in multiple areas, they don't wreck your shit if you're not careful (outside of their obviously projected ultimate). God what a disappointing game.

It really depends.
If you use 3D a lot, yes it is.
If you play a lot of games with camera control and don't have a CPP, yes it is.
If you want to play games that take advantage of the new hardware (Xenoblade, Hyrule Warriors, Monster Hunter), then yes it is.
If you just play normal 3DS games for the most part, then no it's not worth it.

The enhanced 3D is actually quite nice.
The C-Stick is really there for Monster Hunter (where it works ace), I hope your hands aren't greasy or don't wash them so often since it'll get oily. Can supposedly be replaced with a PSP analog nub though.
The better hardware specs are much more apparent in some games released since, again Monster Hunter is a notable example; better textures are used and the game runs much more smoothly. With custom firmware + plugins, supposedly O3DS games like the MGS3 port can run shitloads better on a N3DS.
There is little in the way of N3DS-only games/ports. Xenoblade 3D, I think The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, and now some official SNES emulation if you want to pay for it. Portable Super Metroid is a pretty fucking good thing though.

It's not far from reach and it's fine for small horizontal adjustments since you'll likely use target cam anyway, up/down though might be a pain.

It fits well on the stick under the nipple. The psp stick has a more oval shape, but it's snug enough to not fall out unless you pull on it yourself.
It's a lot more responsive than the nipple, especially if you had one like mine that was a bitch to move vertically.

Nah my laptop hasWindows 10and Dolphin updated to support it and dx12 gets a huge framerate experience compared too dx11 with the same specs, like 30 frames. The bigger problem is its running on amd processor instead of intel which dolphin can run better on. It's just a cheap laptop i picked up a whileago for school and stuff so its not a big deal. The Wii Taiko games run with no problem, and Kirby airride only has frame drops on multiplayer City Trial. A huge upgrade from my other laptop
