In order to upgrade to Windows 10, I would have be running its even shittier successor, which isn't even out yet. Meanwhile, I'm feeling pretty comfy on Windows 7 and I see no need to downgrade to 10 anytime soon.
>>
>>331333642
The Win+TAB shortcut from 7 is gone.
I just can't live without it.
>>
I did, but for some reason my disk usage went up to 100% and I couldn't fix it, so I had to go back to 7.
>>
>>331333995
What did WIN+TAB do on 7?
>>
Guys guys...

what if I, use win 10 on a exclusive gaming PC

but do my other shit on a laptop that doesn't use 10? Am I safe?

Will my emu's be safe on 10 though? I like past fighters and i'm not buying them so.

Don't risk it.

I've stopped giving a shit about botnet and data collection. I've decided that since I'm an average person it's 99% likely that whatever data they collect will never be seen by a real person and is just gonna go through some giant algorithms, just like millions of other people.

I'm still not gonna do something retarded like not use pre-paid CC's when purchasing online, but them knowing that *I* (read: user data that may or may not be able to be linked to a real person with any level of accuracy) jerk it to monstergirls and play a bit too much vidya? I don't really give a shit.

Win10 is a mess in terms of privacy. The whole system is locked down and dumbed down for mouth-breathing retards. Some processes bypass the hosts file no matter what. You get errors saying only "Oops! Something happened" without further info, sometimes it straight up crashes and reboots out of the blue and you're left there wondering. The whole system seems to patronize you constantly.

Also you get ads shoved down your throat and you can't disable updates if you're on the home version.

Why would anyone subject themselves to this? DX12 is not enough of a reason now that Vulkan exists. Stick to Win 7 or GNU + systemd + Linux.

Smeone asked me in the previous thread what problems I had with Windows 10. Well, first of all I followed that guide to get the enterprise version without all the garbage attached to it and ran that debloater but the problem was that I needed to have the media center shit so I had to reinstall the whole os to get that. Second time I was still having issues so I just gave up and ran it vanilla only turning off what little telemetry settings I could. That worked fine for a while but the Adobe suite of products ran like total garbage I was getting this stupid white circle around every one of my clicks and randomly pen pressure would stop being detected and I'd have to alt tab in and out to refocus the window. In Flash I couldn't transform tool any objects, I would have to click through the window when it wasn't focused to get it to work. Like when I was running a Hackintosh it honestly ran way more smoothly then this, Ended up reinstalling 7 but if its still shit Ill go back to OSX

Windows has its problems, but the competition from Linux in particular is fucking weak. It's all segmented into a million different distros, and even those of the major ones which supposedly focus on being user-friendly are hard for newer users to pick up. Knowing how to use shell commands is still essential if you want to do anything beyond browsing the internet and using office programs.

Not that I have a problems with using ganoo leenux since I have relevant education and experience, but whoever says users can just switch without much problem is lying. Do they honestly think the average computer user can understand how to unpack a tar.gz file and compile from source?

Ubuntu is ridiculously user-friendly, like old-people level user friendly. There is no need to use terminal for most people cause there's the software store. Vast majority of hardware works OOB.

There's no reason Linux can't be a great gaming platform, especially with Vulkan, but devs/pubs need to port their games, and most aren't.

Anyone on windows 10 have problems with Blade and Soul? Game runs fine, but I get microstutter where the game will just completely lock up for like, two tenths of a second and everything just stops, but then it shoots back up to 60 fps. It makes the entire game unenjoyable when it happens consistently during combat for no reason since you aren't moving anywhere to load in any new models.

First lets learn what the word botnet means.
A botnet is a number of Internet-connected computers communicating with other similar machines in which components located on networked computers communicate and coordinate their actions by command and control or by passing messages to one another.

Win10 isn't that, botnet is a G meme.

There's roughly 60 million PCs running Windows 10. Let's be generous and say on average they are operating for 4 hours a day. That's about 1.5 trillion images day.

But even if that isn't true surely Microsoft would eventually expect much more than that amount of computers running Windows 10 before too long? Do you really think they have the infrastructure to receive, store and actually do anything with what would probably amount to petabytes of data a day?

A few years ago if you have AMD hardware. The open source AMD drivers, which are now the official drivers on Linux have native Direct3D 9 support so you can bypass the wrapper and the games will work.

The downside is that AMD's OpenGL performance still lags behind Nvidia, but since they've now released their Vulkan driver there is hope for the future.
