Why do good games get labelled as bad games here on /v/ and online game forums? Why is not being good just not good enough for you?
The Division, Dark Souls 2, Infamous: Second Son and others are good games, but because they aren't great games they get labelled as bad games.
Why does everything have to be great? There are a lot of good games you'll miss with that mindset. Not necessarily the ones mentioned but like every 7/10 game in history gets shat on here when they are more than fun to play for at least one playthrough.

It's a bit difficult to explain OP, but games like The Division are the perfect examples of everything wrong with modern gaming in my opinion.
It's not the fact that it's a badly made game or anything, it clearly had a lot of work put into it. But it just feels like an uninspired mess of mechanics and concepts that are currently popular. It's a game that panders simply to what people like, without any kind of greater vision behind it. It kind of reminds me of that line that Henry Ford supposedly said-
'If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.'

Because 4chan is one of the most heavy traffic sites in the world and it has more people visiting it than any other. This is where people come to to shill. On the flip side, it's also the price to create a hate mob.
It just so happens that Ubisoft pissed off a shitload of reviewers and "gaming journalists" who normally get free review copies of their games. Except this time Ubisoft did not give review copies to anyone at all. So lots of these youtubers and "professional" reviewers decided to all shit on Ubisoft and create a Ubisoft-hate-train right here on /v/. They figured this would teach Ubisoft a lesson to give out free review copies next time.

Take off your fucking nostalgia goggles. The "golden" age of gaming is over. It is now a multi-billion industry, just like music or movies. They have to sell. No one cares about makig " visionary games". Now and then we do get a refreshing, original vidya, and that's great, but you faggots should not shit on every game that does not satisfy your autistic needs of "vision".
The Division isn't really good. It's sort of hovering around somewhere above average.
It suffers from a lack of content, lack of variety in it's content, poor gameplay, frequent bugs and server issues are pretty common (you will be kicked several times a day as you play).
It's essentially just another Ubisoft game, but in MMO format (but not really a MMO).

We're interested in how good of a GAME it is. This isn't fucking hollywood. We don't give a fuck about your 220 million dollar budget. We want to know if we have to unnecessarily navigate 6 menues to get the shit we want.
