It feels...autopilot.
The actual movement outside of attacks is stilted and unresponsive, I can understand now why people had such trouble getting around the tiny traps in field mode now that I can see how difficult it is to move with any kind of precision.
The combos are also strangely obtuse, there's very little indication of frame data or cancel-ability so finding combos is boring and time-consuming. Anyone wanting to do optimized damage will have to look combos up online.
All in all it feels a bit too sluggish and labored at the moment. Maybe I'll change my mind after trying all the different characters, but for now the game seems pretty mediocre at best.
