considering I've never heard of Hitbox until you made this thread, I believe the choice is obvious.
Hitbox has less time between when chat messages appear for the streamer, so Hitbox is better for people who want to chat to people in the chat quickly.
I've noticed a lot of people from SA use Hitbox.

Hitbox is superior in every way except number of people that use it.
I have streamed using Hitbox, Twitch, and YouTube. YouTube has the perk of letting people rewind your stream if they missed something, but comes with a large delay as a result. Twitch has a large delay and no real benefits expect user count. Hitbox has a comparatively minimal delay to both of them.
Also, YouTube is the worst for what content it officially allows, Twitch is the second worst, and HitBox is the least worst, as far as censorship goes. No porn games officially allowed on any of them though, sadly, as I was hoping to set up a niche alternate lewd streaming game time.

I would prefer hitbox if only it were at least a little more popular. That site is too unpopular for now unfortunately. Even if it had a quarter of Twitch traffic it would be way better than it is now.
I like smaller streams. I also like streamers more down to earth. Hitbox doesn't have nearly the amount of obnoxious people twitch does since it doesn't have a wide audience with the same money.

Considering I only really stream for those I'm friends with online, Hitbox suits me best as there is very little delay between the stream and chat. Its popularity surged during the Horror debacle but given that Twitch was already providing streamers with partnership and subscriptions, it was unlikely there would be too big of a migration. Such is the allure of money.

Hitbox is for small-scale streaming with less then maybe 1000 or so people watching.
Twitch is for any number higher. The more commercial, money making option.

it's not like it matters, twitch and youtube suffer from the same problem. there's no audience anymore. people already watch the popular streamers and the popular streamers have totally cornered the market. there's absolutely no way for new guys to get in on it short of an act of god.

I think that's the one thing that frustrates me most about Twitch. They have little or no incentives or opportunities for smaller streamers to be put in the spotlight. There's hardly any promotion, and the ones you often find on the front page are the likes of Giantwaffle or that MissRage girl. They don't need promoting at all, they already rode the coattails or popular streamers to establish themselves.
I use hit box when I want to do something that involves chat, or need high quality and high fps. Twitch only allows 30 fps unless you're partnered.

it's mind boggling too because i think most people know cultivating new talent is an important part of having a platform like that. you have no idea if the next pewdiepie is streaming on your platform right then and just needs a break to make it big. also it incentivizes more people to join your platform because it has that Hollywood effect, everyone's scrambling for their big break. twitch already has it to some degree but i think more and more people are beginning to realize it's a waste of time unless you spend all yuor time sucking up to popular streamers for raids.

If you want viewers you obviously have one choice : twitch. Hitbox may be better though I don't know about it at all. I don't think it can compete with twitch.
Hitbox's admin team are streamers, which itself is a positive and a negative. They understand the general user demand and what is preferred, but are also cringe as fuck to deal with.
Hitbox is also big in the Euro market, but thats about it. They need to find a way to make the network a viable alternative. Stream delay is not the answer anymore.
