So, given that the last official mention of Capcom and SCEJ's Deep Down was over a year ago (Ono stated that the game was currently "in the process of being significantly reworked") and since then we've heard absolutely nothing, what do you think will end up happening with it, /v/? Still released F2P or will the payment model be reworked into a traditional retail game?Or do you think it'll be a RE4 scenario and be reworked and recycled into a bunch of other stuff?

I feel like they don't want to say much about it because of Dark Souls being in the public eye right now but now would be the best time to show more about IMO since people are gonna wanna be playing knight games F2P is going to kill it on arrival though

It just struck me as really strange that they even thought to begin with to try and tie some .hack-type thing into what's basically just dark sword and sorcery.
I bet they're retooling it into a traditional experience. The initial plan was gonna be some sort of F2P co-op dungeon crawl type thing with some sort of extra layer of Assassin's Creed-esque modern day plotline relating to technology and shit. I bet DDO and stuff like DaS2/Bloodborne being large successes made them examine what they wanted to get out of Deep Down. Fromsoft proved a market exists and DDO is already a successful co-op rpg. Capcom wants a Souls clone.

I think it was to help separate it from DAS but odds are its just gonna feel really out of place. It also seem like a shot at grabbing some of the asscreed audience.

I bought a PS4 looking forward to this and Let It Die, the other F2P game left in development hell. This is surely hell.
