Never played Dead Rising 2, wish 1 was on PC. Is it worth it? Optimized? Dead rising thread

>is it worth it
They removed GFWL recently. Still haven't fixed some bugs, though.
>optimized
No. None of the DR games on PC right now are optimized. Funnily enough, 1 would have probably ran wonderfully.

You might like Off the Record more if you're playing for fun.

2 is a pretty cool guy. kills zombies and doesn't afraid of anything.
>>
>>331121728
Well would it run well on a 770/i5 4690k?
>>
DR2 played pretty well even on my old 955BE and GTX 570 build. If you have anything recent, it will play flawlessly. Same with OTR.

Now DR3 on the other hand does have some issues, and if your hardware is not fairly recent it will buckle a little (especially the CPU).

Yes, it's good.
It ran well on my 2009 Asus laptop when I played it the first time (core2duo 2Ghz, 4GB DDR2, GTX 260M 1GB).
>>
>>331121776
Yeah, it will run like butter on a 770. You are good.

no 960ti minimum

it's a 7th gen console multiplat-game, bro. It will run even on a toaster.
>>
>>331121485
get dead rising 2 off the record instead, it's better
>>
>>331121974
I hear that. I like the camera stuff from DR1, does vanilla DR2 have that? I don't really know the differences other than character
>>
Is there any reason to play DR2 over off the record?
>>
>>331122073
Main differences between the two:
>Camera mode for OTR
>Several new bosses for OTR, or modified bosses here and there.
>One new area in OTR that is pretty fun.
>Plot is mostly the same, but has a completely new ending.
>Infinity Mode in OTR
>Rebalanced items and enemies. Also easier Zombrex stuff.

For the most part it is the same game, but better in a lot of ways.

DR2 vanilla is a bit shoddier in graphics, controls differently, and lacks the camera option. But, it has an exclusive mode (Terror is Reality, not really worth it, but easier to get money) Chuck plays slightly differently than Frank.
OTR adds a few extra combo weapons, lets you play as both Chuck and Frank (Chuck only through Co-Op), adds the camera mode, and adds Sandbox Mode, which is great for fucking with the game.

If you have to choose, go for OTR. The only thing missing from OTR is what was basically developer cheats as DLC.

>>331122343

Ok. I don't really care that much about story. I'll probably get OTR. I like the camera mechanics and Frank seems like a better character. So basically the original game only really has that one mode?
>>
The DLC honestly doesn't look that worth it
>>
>>331122492
Pretty much. DR2 is just the main game and TIR, all can be played in Co-Op with a duplicate Chuck. OTR has the main story + Sandbox, Co-Op with Chuck as 2P.

>>331122750
For both games, any purchasable DLC outfit gives you the bonus if you wear just one piece of it. In DR2, it's incredibly useful. For OTR, it's mostly novelty.
>>
>dead rising sale on steam
>they use a shot from DR1
>DR1 will never be on steam

Kill me now
>>
>>331122996
Surprised it isn't. Not like they couldn't make sales off it
