played Star Ocean: The Last Hope and that game was terrible.

It's hard for me to show interest in star ocean after 3 and 4 lackluster stories. Sure the battles were fun but hidden behind a shitwall of crappy story and characters.

In all fairness, the PSP remake of SO1 is decent. It's like a lesser SO2 using the same engine, but it's not bad.

I just realized that the MC has the exact same moves as Fayt fro SO3. Also it looked like he linked the first attack of close circle with the close X combo, haven't played 4 so maybe that's a new thing

Next big one is Star Ocean 5. JRPGs instantly killed again.

Why are there so many bad devs in the JRPG dev scene? Don't they realize the way you sell JRPGs in large numbers is not with bouncy happy funtime big eyed characters or edgy mcedgelords Mavericks, but rather with quality drama and fantastical places that are still somewhat grounded in realism?
