Some dude struggling to take a shit
>>
>>331059624
there's a story behind but i dont remember it too well

I think TLDR
>abandoned ship
>found it far away
>take photos
>see nobody
>upload photos
>see that man in the end of the corridor
>>
As a cohesive genre with an involved community and regular releases, yes. You'll still get one-offs and a bunch of low-key indie shit that appeals to incredibly niche crowds with their own little subgenres, but horror will never be as big as it used to be.

guy taking pictures of a decommissioned soon to be scrapped military boat for the record, walking around with a flashlight which he turns off to take a picture with his camera, guy gives picture to his boss who says "whos the guy at the end of the corridor with the axe?" yadda yadda yadda creepypasta

Anyone have the photos where it misleads you with a red circle and there's shit off in a corner that you don't notice until a second glance? Always loved that shit though the gifs feel cheap

How much of pussy am I for instinctively hiding this shit? Maybe I try and empathize too much, but I don't understand how you guys can look at gore and death so casually like that
>>
>>331060701
what's the story here anon?
>>
>>331061881
burned alive?
>>
>>331061881
Isn't it something like this guy was missing after heading out to sea, then his ship was discovered with his remains inside, and he was assumed to have died a long time ago to be in that state but had actually died just a week or two prior to being found?
>>
It was too late from the start. Even from the get go, 90% of games released in the horror genre were jump scare games. Very few games out that focused more on psychological horror. And unfortunately, jump scare games are dismally predictable.
>>
>>331059624
I thought it was a teddy bear shadow or something.
>>
>>331062186
Also, jump scare games attract youtubers. That was probably the final nail on the coffin.
>>
>Have a friend who has a terrible phobia of seagulls and people knocking at his door (Dont ask about the second one)

>Suggest a horror game that involves an endless hallway of doors that are programmed on a rng scale to knock intermittently as you pass by.
>Have to find the doors that lead out.
>Every game randomly generates room filled with psycho seagulls, ala The Birds that attack if you enter.
>Friend threatens to kill me for suggesting game idea.
>>
>>331062719
What about seagulls knocking on doors?
>>
>>331061801

Nobody lives forever, Anon. We're all going to die. You have to accept that.
>>
NO, we just gotta wait till its cheap enough to make games so we start doing niche games and stop worrying about muh sales and muh publishers
>>
>>331062825
Grats anon, you killed my friend.
RIP in peace

With VR it's pretty much poised for a renaissance.
>>
>>331062973
Why bother with VR when I can go to a haunted house and get the same effect?

>at least he died doing what he loved
amen to that

>>331063078
Cause that requires leaving the house, and I'm not a useful-enough member of society for that.
>>
>>331061881
Guy was out sailing on his lonesome I believe when he had a heart attack

Salty air from the ocean had mummified his corpse by the time he was found

Seagulls i don't understand but strangers knocking at the door is understandable.
>>
>>331056965
Yes. Horror has become flavor of the week jump scare games.
>>
>>331064072
Apparently he got attacked by a seagull as a child and it scarred him for life. Glad I dont have any phobias
>>
>>331063078
Because that's illegal if you want to go to an authetic one.
>>
>>331064605
Meh, jumpscares are the same whether theyre virtual or in person
>>
