Loading it up right now. I haven't played the new version too much. I get a lot of run time errors and crashes. It looks like they cleaned up the interface, added HP bars for friendlies and adjusted some prices on stuff.
Seems like gear costs more which might give you more reason to or force you to get lower tier and progress.
I haven't played enough to see new factions and stuff.

I liked Viking conquest, it kind of rekindles your will to play the game after hours of boring vanilla.
The mainquest spices things a bit too, but i can see people not enjoying it, also the way how norsemen are OP as fuck, their soldiers have better armors than other races equivalent tiers, also with the whole church raiding while christians get nothing.
There's also the issue with the geography and how Denmark, Frisia and Norway feel really isolated, you will never really have necessity of going there unless you want soldiers, are a vassal of them or just want cheap things like wood in Norway.

Be careful with that, don't axcept every fief they give you.
First, the more shit you have, higher is the tax inefficency, and maintaining many garrisons is expensive as fuck.
Also, once the king starts to like you, you will receive almost every village your kingdom gets, and if you accept all of them the other vassals will betray and make the kingdom fall apart.
