What upcoming games do you plan to buy, /v/? How do you decided which ones are must-buys at launch, and which are worth waiting to grab on sale instead?
If you're not planning to buy/pirate anything this year, then what will you be playing instead?
Personally all I'm looking forward to now that XCOM 2 and Bravely Second are out is Shadow Warrior 2, Deus Ex, Dark Souls 3, and the new Zelda. Maybe the DQ VIII remake as well.
As for fighting games, KOF14 and Tekken 7. A little afraid of Tekken since they casualized it just like SF did. Hopefully, it won't end up a huge fucking shitstain like SF did.
Looking forward to DS3, Bravely Second, Hyrule Warriors in a couple day. Dead Island on Ps4, Valkyria chronicles on ps4 but I don't know if I want to play through it again after how long the first playthrough dragged out for.
All I really care about right now is Persona 5, Dishonoured 2, and Dark Souls 3. If KOF14 gets a PC port I might be into it too.
Probably just gonna keep playing CS:GO, DaS pvp, and old RTS games to fill the void besides that. Might check out Factorio and Stardew Valley, too, if even those start to bore me.
All I'm really looking forward to is Dark Souls 3 and the mission overhaul update for Elite:Dangerous.
Apart from that I'm enjoying grinding away at Stardew Valley and I still have a massive backlog to work through.

I'm certainly going to grab The Last Guardian and FFXV on launch, mainly because I've been waiting for so fucking long. I'm looking forward to DS3 too, but those games have been known to drop in price pretty fast and I just finished Bloodborne, so I think I can wait on that.
As for fighting games, I'm interested in KOF14, Tekken 7, and Guilty Gear Revalator. I'll pick up whatever one has the most active online community, as I'm primarily a SF player (at least for now.)

2) The first two games are really, really good and for very long time it seemed as if 3 was cancelled despite 2 ending on a massive clifhanger - so the fanbase has been absolutely rabid with joy ever since it got announced last year. Recently there's been a lot of new info dripfed to the public by the devs and a new trailer comes out tomorrow, which is why you're probably seeing so many threads for it.

Yeah they're the same.
It's a VN series with escape puzzles that started on the DS. They have a really good atmosphere to them, along with a colorful cast and a fuckton of twists that fuck with your head. The third game was believed to be cancelled until recently and info has been trickling out the past month. There's a trailer coming out today/tomorrow and there's even a recreation of the escape events being hosted in Cali that's completely booked IIRC
