It could kill infection forms easier than any other weapon could. A REAL piece of shit is a Halo 2 Plasma Rifle, does little damage to shields and flesh. It could only be good with a combo of dual wielding SMG and Plasma Rifle

Try a non-lethal playthrough of MGS3, MGS:PW or MGSV. Even MGS4 is good for that.

Shotguns animations are stiff. Compare it to HL1 shotgun where the alt fire makes a nice recoil animation where in 2 it barely moves an inch
Revolver only has a nice reloading animation
Crossbow is lackluster except when you pin a guy into a wall
Hl2 weapons feel so unsatisfying because of ragdolly enemies, stiff as fuck animations and every gun looking and feeling like a cheap toy

Shotgun is much better than in HL1. Better range, better power, one-shots dudes in the face. Used it through the whole game.
Revolver is pixel-accurate and one-shots dudes in the face as well. Really good looking model, even today. Reload animation is awful, actually, Gordon just kind of levitates the shells into the chambers. He used speedloader in 1.

There's nothing unsatisfying about sending a guy flying by shooting him in the head with a magnum or shotgun.
