Syndicate felt like the most accessible game since Brotherhood. The location was great and the gang warfare was fun but its narritive and social commentary on capitalism was so fucking heavy handed. On top of the controls were abysmal...overall for me it was a strong 7.5

Because it was a better pirate game than it was an actual Asscreed game. The game really should have been it's own IP and not associate with the Asscreed series, considering how little it actually pushed the story. As far as I can tell, Ubisoft is less beating a dead horse of a franchise, as they are stiching it back up with different parts/gimmicks as a Franksteins monster of a series.

I preferred these games when they didn't shoehorn every relevant character of the times into the game as an assassin or crusader to be honest. I just find myself fucking hating the game as a result.
I've never been hugely into Assassin's Creed and I've skipped most of the games in the series, so I'm not feeling the franchise fatique that most people are. I got Syndicate for free and I think it's pretty fun. The story is nothing to write home about, but the rest of the game is really enjoyable.
