legitimate 10/10 game with no flaws. the only thing that even comes remotely close to a flaw is that the Sigma Stage 2 and 3 music isn't as good as the rest of the soundtrack.
also the craziest case I've seen of the first game in the series being the best one by far. X2 is the only game that even comes close in quality.

My opinion on Mega Man franchise as a whole is that it has a fuckton of games and I don't want to make an effort and play them all nor would I make the effort to discern / learn which are good and which are not.

trick is named magic carpet, it utilizes a memory glitch called phantom grab - by picking up an item with the boomerang on the same frame as spawning a platform, the item turns into the platform.
It's mostly only really useful on this stage and this is a TAS recording.

Except it is missing some tracks, has incredibly sluggish movement, floaty jumps, and really oddly placed relocated items. Vile mode is fun, but the same song repeating over and over in every stage is horrible. I didn't mind the graphics though, and the anime cutscenes were definitely great.

Its my personal favorite in the X series. I think it has the best music and the most concise level design. Its the perfect instance of when the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
It's not perfect though. I think my biggest gripe is always having to start with Chill Penguin if you want the Leg part. They obviously knew the dash was important to progression based on the placement of that light pod compared to the other 3 hidden ones. This is further evidenced by the fact that dashing becomes one of X's base abilities in the next game.

Interestingly Roll was meant to be more important. In Mega man 2 she was actually planed to be fully playable however this was dropped as the high ups at Capcom thought no one would play her when they could play Mega man.
