So, GPU temps. What's safe? Lately my card has been heating up to 90c-100c with the fan set at 40%, which is bearable to listen. If I allow the system to set fan speed it shoots to 70%, which sounds like drilling. I know there's dust buildup, I'm just scared to open the card (the dust won't come out with just compressed air, it's probably already packed too tight inside).
What temps you run your cards at?
Posting at v, since vidya related.

I prefer to use a vacuum cleaner. Maybe it helps.

He's talking about his GPU, not your dick

Is the noise coil whine? If so, get an RMA

Nah, it's just the fan

What card do you have?

radeon hd 7970

Who?

I had one, i think they are just loud in general. Only thing you can really do is get a soundproof case and use headphones. Temps for GPUs shouldnt go over 70 degrees on load usually.
>>330811207
>100%manual
>server fan facing it
>never went beyond 65
>using headphones so i cant hear shit
No regrets.
90-100c is too much for prolonged usage. what the fuck. fucking moron

Ok then

Doesn't the fan explode?
>>330811207
stop being a fucking pussy and open your card, it's not rocket sciene for christ sake, just be careful
Anyone want to help me out with GPU temperature? I own a GTX 970 and live in a relatively hot area, my idle gpu temperature is around 35-40 degree C, which doesn't matter. During gaming tho, my gpu temperature tops at high 70s, usually between 70 C and 75C when I play Witcher 3/Fallout 4. Should i be worried about gpu staying at continuous 70s C when gaming for a long period of time?
My gpu fans are already running at max speed. During summer when ambient temperature reaches high 40s, I have to downclock my video card, it reaches 80 C at 100% fan speed.

>server fan made for full speed use all time during his lifetime will explode
>shit fans of the videocard have some "improved" dust sealer and i chek em from time to time via gpu monitor
My psu will explode if i connect the other 2 i have to the computer, they are on an external power via 5-1/4 external drive power cables.

Better just spend a few bucks on airspray and try to undust that shit and see if the fans work as they should at max speed.
OP, also use shit like asus gpu tweak or afterburner to make a custom set depending on the temperature, under 40°, set at 60%speed, up to 50° set at 75%speed and over 70° set it to max.
you will make your card live a few more.
PCBs are plenty strong. Just don't force anything, don't touch it when it's powered on, ground yourself before touching it. Can probably clean it easily with a cotton swab if it's packed.

98C is when you need to start worrying.
dunno if its normal or not. especially GPU.

Go big or burn everything.

32GB of ram? The fuck?
Up to 80 is good, anything higher reduces the gpus life span.
Mine does this thing where it sits at 60 or so under load, slowly cooks up to 75-80, fans get loud, and it goes down to 54-60 again and the process keeps repeating. Its been doing this for years and still hasnt died, so its cool with me
