I don't remember the "princess is in other castle" memery from back in the day, it's fairly recent, and made by hipsters who've probably never even beaten the original Super Mario.
And even if you did play the game, who the fuck would think it ends after first few levels? I was more disappointed to find Peach, because it meant I had beat the game.

I've always disliked Toad but only because I ALWAYS forget he runs faster when he's holding something and run straight into enemies nearby. Then I instantly forget and repeat. Plus his voice what the fuck.
