Why inventory in Diablo II is so small?
>>
So you can have fun playing inventory tetris.
>>
it's proportional to the players penis size
>>
>>330647939
expansion
>>
>>330648146
>my penis can contain 5 suits of full plate mail
Thanks, I think?
>>
>>330648454
ur dick is gay lol
>>
>>330648376

Even then it's a bitch to manage stuff like gems. In offline SP it's almost impossible to gear other characters, I've had to install D2SE and I already have ~30 pages full of gems and uniques.
>>
>>330648376
expanded stash is still small.
so have to make so many mules
why is it so inconvenient?
>>
>>330648594
Artificial lenghtening of the game
>>
>>330647939
Because you're only going to be picking up 1/500 of the items you come across.
>>
>implying that you need place inventory if every single piece of equipment is useless
>>
>>330648780

What about

>>330648523

you need all sorts of gems to upgrade your stuff, you're completely mad if you think aiming for a specific upgrade or gem to drop is viable.
>>
in diablo 1 you were doing actual dungeon crawling with relatively limited resources
thus it makes sense that you can't carry unlimited good stuff
diablo 2 is mostly a holdover from that
>>
i see people putting their cube in the stash and i don't know why.

wouldn't you carry more with you if you had it in your inventory?
>>
Install PlugY.
>>
High resolution patch for Battle.net when?
>>
>>330648927
>You need all sorts of Gems...
Gems are pretty much useless except for very early game

>you're completely mad if you think aiming for a specific upgrade or gem to drop is viable.
Not a specific. Just any rares, set, unique, runes, gems and charms
>>
>>330649041
Yes you would. There is no reason not to carry the cube.
>>
>>330649087
In the forseeable future.
>>
>>330649143
this is pure madness, why do they not keep the cube with them. why? why!?
>>
>>330649652
Usually if mine was already full of shit, I'd keep it in the stash.
>>
>>330649143
unless you want to fill your inventory with charms
>>
>>330649115
>Gems are pretty much useless except for very early game
It's good for craft m8. Especially for god tier amulets.

Best layout coming through.
Charms under keys, building from top left to right bottom.
>>
>>330648523
>not having an account full of mule characters

All those mules, lost in time, like tears in the rain.

Inventories look like this in the end anyway
>>
Charms are the worst thing since sliced Hitler. Who thought it's a good idea to permanently clutter your inventory even more?
>>
>>330650176
MedianXL or whatever it's called?
I tried it and it didn't add stuff to a great game, it changed a shallow but awesome game into a mess instead.

why
>>
>>330650280
not really. you throw away the weak ones.
>>
>>330650463
>Amazon
mah niggah.
>>
>>330650127

How do you transfer items between mules in SP?
>>
>>330650634
You use mods in single player.
>>
>>330650472
to identify rares and shit without going to town
>>
>>330647939
Because it's fucking proper rpg and not boring shit like poe
>>
>>330650463

428% MF, running Pindleskin for days and still no Griffon for my Lightning Sorc... I might actually make a Javazon as I already have Thunderstroke, Thundergod's Vigot and a few other Amazon items.
>>
>>330650280
i like the idea of charms, but i think it would have worked better if you just had charm slots rather than them taking up inventory space.
>>
The inventory is that small because the game wants you to manage it. People can't pick up like a hundred weapons, there's no fucking way they could lift it all.
>>
>>330651850
I don't think the 'realism' argument applies here anon
>>
>>330647939
Because the UI's designed for the screen size of the day.
>>
>>330651949
Of course it does, even in fantasy the artists keep a sense of realism like.. you aren't The Hulk who can lift upwards of 100 quintillion tons.

If you could pick up everything constantly, it would be quite brainless. With a limited inventory, you have to think about what you want to keep.
>>
>>330651850
>>330651949
>>330652073
i think the real reason is that they didn't expect people to hoard items like they do and so it seemed like a sufficient size.
>>
>>330652265
Yeah they expected people to only pick up what they needed, like things relevant to their class or potions. Instead people pick up everything they can to get extra gold.
>>
Because Diablo 2 is an awkward middle child. It doesn't have tense dungeon crawling like D1 nor competent loot-based progression like D3.
>>
ol' aRPGs didn't expect or intend for you to pick up every piece of shit you find and haul it back to town to sell it, like you would in a normal cRPG.
>>
>>330652398
It's true
In D2 you could just blow past most of the content by teleporting like a mad man.
>>
>>330650069
>cube and tomes to the right
my nigger
>>
>>330650362
this
>>
>can't run in Diablo 1
>can't walk slowly in Diablo 3

this is literally why Diablo 2 is still the best game of the series

walking in d2 has a purpose, though, it's not only a mechanic that's there in order to have stamina

>>330651850
>>330651949
>>330652037
you're all wrong, its because of balance, otherwise you'd be able to stack up on so much charms you'd be invinsible

I don't thnik this would fuck with my autism as much if everything just kept within it's dedicated squares.
>>
>>330648991
In single player I just dropped all the loot that I could possibly need a use in the future into the town since it never vanishes. If I need that armor with a lot of fire resist it is right there for me.
>>
>>330648594

It's realistic.

Then stop giving us items to horde. Gold wasn't the currency, you had to barter with your items if they were gems, jewels, charms, runes, or socketed/rare/set/unique items.

I really don't care about the personal character inventory but the stash inventory is fairly abominable. Find a nice unique that your character doesn't need and would like to trade it? It takes up six square? Well damn hope you have the room. Did a run and you actually found two things that are worthwhile but can only take one due to the limited stash space?

It sucks when you want to upgrade things on your own such as upping runes or managing different grades for your gems.

While gold consumed space in your personal inventory you didn't have as many issues with space management due to the fact that there are items that you horde that you hope to make use of one day. The expansion just exacerbated the hording people did in D2.

Why tho?

Lame. Well they did say this wasn't the end so I'm hoping they add or change stuff later.
>>
>>330655145
the graphics have been slightly modified. not the textures but the game now seems to have a depth axis
