Get a Devil's canyon CPU instead unless you actually need DDR4.

Don't get a 950, that much will get you almost twice as much storage on a 2.5" SSD.

Don't get an AIO, get a 212 Evo.

Don't Crossfire, spend that $300 on a single, better card.

That keyboard is shit.

Basically, start all over except your case. Also, where's your PSU?

Congratulations you'll be browsing 4chan like a champ now!
>>
Those NZXT cases supposedly fall apart pretty fast and I would recommend a single GPU over crossfire

Why would you crossfire two shitty cards instead of actually buying a decent card???

Fucking poorfags

Don't buy 2 370s you tard. Crossfire support is absolute shit. Just get a 390
>>

My H440 has lasted me since it's launch more than 2 years ago just fine. Then again, I don't constantly move my tower around like a retarded autist.

>Get a Devil's canyon CPU instead unless you actually need DDR4.
I bought the z170 chipset. DDR4 was part of the deal. My old rig was/is a EVGA nForce 780i SLI FTW motherboard with a q6600 overclocked to 3.2 ghz. ( 4 cores, 8 gigs of DDR2). I built this rig in 2008 and I'm still using it.
>Don't get a 950, that much will get you almost twice as much storage on a 2.5" SSD.
I have 1 TB SSD I'm carrying over from my old rig. I bought the 950 for the 32Gb/s
>Don't get an AIO, get a 212 Evo
No.
>Don't Crossfire, spend that $300 on a single, better card.
My 3D projector isn't Nvidia 3D ready. I use AMD and stereoscopic player to play Skyrim in 3D. If I buy an Nvidia graphics card, I'll have to replace a $500 projector. I have to have two cards to play 3D games (One card per eye). My friend has a r9 390 and he says that the 8 gigs is a meme, the GPU can never use all of it.
>That keyboard is shit.
It has Cherry MX Greens and it's low profile. I'll replace the keycaps when the Vortex Translucent PBT+POM Double Shot Keycap Set becomes available. (currently out of stock)

My PSU is a zu series 800w, carried over from my old rig.
>>
I swear I always make the big mistake of cheaping out on the power supply, they're always so FUCKING loud and they drive me neurotic.

>nForce 780i SLI
>Q6600 3.2Ghz

Bro. I had the exact same rig. With the 8GB of DDR2 800mhz, and 3-way SLI GTX 285s. What an amazing rig.

But honestly dude, even going from that processor to an i7 3770k, I noticed a massive difference. And going from a 3770k to a 6600k is another massive big jump. You'll be set for almost another decade.

Just scrolling through /v/ and saw "EVGA nForce 780i SLI" and felt the need to reply. I haven't seen that motherboard mentioned in years. And man what a board it was.
>>
>>330636439
>What an amazing rig.
ikr? my nigga.

I realize that it's common wisdom to choose the CPU first, and then pick the motherboard. I happen to disagree with this. I prefer to choose my chipset FIRST. I have been waiting a very long time for a significant step forward in motherboard technology and for me, the new DMI 3.0 (Direct Media Interface) link between CPU and chipset, with double the effective bandwidth (32 gigabit/s) of DMI 2.0. Time to pull the trigger.

I expect this motherboard will last me a very long time. Fuck buying a new computer ever 2 years.
>>
>>330636104
You should really mention you have such a specific use case scenario in the OP. On its own as a normal rig, your build was fucking retarded.

>>

You should really strive to step out of the group think of the /v/ circle jerk. It only seemed retarded initially because you've been here so long that you've put your mind in a box and don't realize it.

Think for yourself and stop regurgitating memes.
>>
>>330637396
Are you really saying that two $150 cards and a $180 256gb M.2 SSD make sense for a normal build with no information about past parts given? And AIO's are just silly.
>>
>>330637861
>normal
You are literally trying to shame me for not following the herd. Protip: people are stupid. If you're doing what everyone else is doing just because everyone else is doing it, you're not thinking for yourself.

The cards are really cheap ($150). In crossfire, they don't perform that bad, as long as there is support.Yes, I realize that there are issues with this (lack of driver support), but Nvidia drivers cap their 3D at 720p, which is completely unacceptable. Also, I'm not buying two r9 390s because hey are too expensive to buy two of them right now. I'll upgrade to the 390s when the price comes down.

Don't do it the airflow is fucking awful.
>>
>>330638593
how did you set yours up?
>>
What are the pros/cons of micro atx builds? I'm tempted to make one since I'm sick of having a behemoth of a tower sitting on my desk and having something compact that I can carry around with ease should I ever need to would be nice.
>>
>>330638825
micro atx builds are great for htpc
>>
>>330638825
Generally, you will have airflow challenges and will be limited to one graphics card. Other than the pain in the ass of actually building it, there really isn't any other cons.
>>
>>330638825
There aren't really any cons except heat buildup might be an issue since all the parts are so close together. For gaming the best bet is always a mid-full tower because airflow is important enough to take into consideration. But you can still game on a micro atx build. Other than that I'd say maybe less room to move around when you want to tinker with your build compared to a bigger pc, which is more of a personal preference thing.
>>
>>330638825
Pro - Micro atx is cheap.
>>
>>330634738
Get a R9 390. MultiGPU support is garbage these days.
>>
>>330636104
Get a FX8320e (and overclock it) and a gigabyte ud3p. No need to get a memelake cpu. As the cooler the good old hyper 212 evo will do. Also get a cheaper SSD. Should save enough money for 2 390s.

Is this just for gaming? If so, you are paying way too much. And if you are planning to use programs like Photoshop, a game developing program, or music, I suggest you blow your brains off after leaving a letter of how much of a faggot you are.
>>
Also, don't forget about paying the 70 bucks for windows AND the "next gen" games you are planning to getting.

You could always pirate.
>>
>>330642103
What's a good build for emulating up to Dolphin/PS2?
>>
>>330642103
i7-6700K, Z170XP-SLI, Noctua NH-U12S,
DDR4 Ripjaws 2x8go, msi GTX 980 Ti 6go,
hdd WE 4to + corsair ssd 60go,
psu corsair 850w, win10
>>
>>330643639
I don't actually dabble in Emulation that much But I hear that compared to the hardware it runs on (A PS2) it's pretty cpu intensive but even then that' not much. So even something like 4690 should be fine, I'd be willing to be even and AMD FX-8300 would be fine.

>>330643810
halve the HDD, double the SSD and get a keyboard that doesn't confuse 'b' with 'o' while you're at it.

I have a FX4300+Asus 7770 and while it does play Dolphin/PS2 games, they do occasionally stutter a bit. (Like cutscenes in Xenoblade or the Rainbow effects in Tatsunoko vs Capcom)
