You know, rogues have it pretty tough.

Mmmmm....there, there my Darlings. Don't worry, we'll nerf fear again.
>genuine laughter for over 2 minutesI think it's funny is they DID buff eviscerate afterwards, and the creator of the video quit wow once they buffed the shit out of warlocks
>>330563179
Anon, you're referencing something way too old for most of /v/ to know of.
>>330563179
I liked games back then, amazing that I have so few fond, recent, memories of games.
Quick, post the best videos of WoW's yesteryear.

After not playing warcraft since Wotlk I got the itch from reading some nostalgia threads and bought all the expansions and continued leveling my warrior.
I must have seen 2 or 3 people in over 20 levels who were just zooming around on mounts.
Is the game dying?
>>330564060
It's been dying since Cataclysm.
For the people still present, they're either AFK in a hub town or in their garrison.

You shoud've rolled on Nost instead of dropping money on the clusterfuck that is the current game, it was fun for a bit until most of the guilds started turning into elitist fags
Rogues have it tough in vanilla? How so?
>>330564060
Wow today seems awful. If you want to relieve your memories Id say go to a decent private server like Nost or Kronos. I dont know about a good wotlk private server though. Lots of people see WotLK as the peak, but for me it was the downfall with easier dungeons, dungeon finder etc.
>>330564060
Yes, it honestly is.
That said, it's fairly fun to play at the start of new xpacs. For the first few weeks there are always a good number of returning old players (and the shitters get filtered out for a little bit).

Old videos for the game really show off the charm it once had.
>>330564404
Going to private servers is never going to relieve those memories. The types of communities that existed that attributed to those memories don't exist anymore. If you want to replay an expansion or vanilla from wow because you liked it, fine, do it, that's cool. But don't ever go into thinking you're gonna get the same experience. Those days are gone, and just because you go back to the expansions associated with that time, doesn't mean people go back to acting the way they did at that time.

This nigga gets it. We were different back then. The entire internet was. We've gotten progressively more asocial and apathetic and online communities are suffering for it
>>330564628
I can only speak for myself, but even though its not the same as it was (it was more than 10 years ago after all), playing on Kronos definitely relieved my memories. People know the game much better now of course, and the sense of mystery may be mostly gone, but the rules are still the same, people still come together for dunegons and raids, you still need to coordinate groups in order to succeed, and seeing areas you havent seen in years still feels pretty special.

This the fun of the original WoW was discovery firstly the world and then the end game raids/dungeons with friends/guildies. Now on private servers everyone already knows everything in advance there is no trying out new builds or new routes through raids and everyone already knows the best strats for each raid boss. Yeah wiping time after time is annoying but there was always something satisfying about downing a difficult raid boss for the first time with your original guild you just don't get that in private servers
>>330564970
The thing about vanilla/tbc is that it forces you to be social. You cant find dungeons without interacting with people.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLyOj_QD4a4
mfw most current WoW players probbaly don't even know the originator of the meme
>>330564970
Bullshit, nostalrius has the same cooperation people had back in vanilla and many of the players here and experiencing it for the first time.
I've got a private server I made for myself, who wants to play with me!?!
>>330565391
Just because people had brains then, and people have brains now, does not mean the experience is the same.
>>330564628
this guy is talking shit. i played emerald dream feenix back in 2012 with a /v/ guild and it was fucking great. it was like reliving my vanilla days albeit i knew more about the world etc. which is why i rolled alliance when i only ever play horde characters, i wanted a fresh experience and i got it.
nostalrius is fucking dog shit because it's overcrowded and the economy is fucked. not representative of vanilla at all.
Anyone else recall this gem?
