Is it the best game ever? No. Do I enjoy playing? Yes. It's grindy but you don't need EVERY piece of gear for it to be fun, so you grind for what you want, ignore what you don't. For example I tried playing warlock. Didn't like it. So I don't grind it. Problem solved

Nah, in shoulda-bought-a-better-gamelands weapons scale with enemy difficulty (as far as I can remember), so taking down some huge cunt leads to a you getting some powerful weapon with a load of modifiers. Destiny doesn't even have that. You can take down some huge cunt and could get the most basic bitch weapon in the game. Same with engrams btw.
