Spacechem and Splice are two puzzle games I really enjoyed. Not sure if they're what you're looking for, though.

When a Layton clone crowdfunded indie game?

this one is honestly quite disappointing.
At first I thought the art was quite nice, but once I realized it was all royalty free art from ages past, it became clear they were really limited in what they could do. A lot of Ace attourney charm comes from visual humor alone, and they had to limit their storytelling to what they had available. The couple of drawings they did do themselves show they didn't have too much artistic talent available.
The gameplay and puzzles are just.. not very good and barely exist. Writing is too reliant on bird puns.

puzzle agent is literaly a professor layton ripoff without all that "french cartoon" charm

LYNE, assuming you want something with a simple concept but some brain teasing to solve.
Jelly no Puzzle is a really good (and free) one you can find online.

Those games have been around for a while. You might not be able to handle Crimes and Punishment but you should be able to handle the older ones.

You don't feel satisfaction at figuring out a puzzle?
>>330352515
I suck at it. Probably because I'm a retard. I'm being honest. Too much thinkiing. Would rather play an RPG or blow shit up in a FPS.
>>330352789
Nothing wrong with that.
I doubt I'd get much fun out of TIS, myself. I feel dumb enough playing Spacechem.
>>330352915
I think different genres of gaming cater to the mood that you're in.
Sometimes I want to unwind and play a simple RPG. If I feel amped up I'll play a fighting game. Puzzles? Maybe on ritalin or maybe I just want to feel smart and actually make an attempt to solve puzzles. That'rs just me, It depends on the mood that I'm in and rarely am I ever wanting to play puzzles.
