What are your match settings whenfriendsare involved /v/?
usually on melee we do 4 stocks, no items, but any stage. its enough to keep it entertaining and not the same thing every time.
>select items on
>at least one iteration of Gaur Plain and Pac-Land per session
>3 stocks or 2-5 time, not picky
>no Roy cause I'm not paying $4 for literally Marth
It usually goes over well.
>>330271158
Deku nuts, flags, and soccer balls only, Mario World Stage, three stocks.
>>330271694
>literally Marth
That's lucina. Roy feels really different from Marth this time around.
>>330271158
4P FFA, non shitty stages, sometimes items.
Sometimes i'll also do 1v1 in melee with my friend cause it's boring in 4
>>330271158
No items, random omega.
I usually have a handicap on because i always win.
3 stock, no items, whatever the fuck stage we feel like doing but mostly competitive viable ones
>>330271158
>everyone picks one item
>items set on med
>5 stock usually, sometimes 5 min match
>random stage pick, always
>can't repeat characters next round
keeps things interesting and it'sfun
All items on, highest item spawn setting, five stock, random stage.
>>330271158
FFA
>Smash Balls On, rest of the items off
>Regular stages, Omega on the large 8 player stages
>4 stock
>99 stock as our last all-out fight with all items on
1 v 1
>Heavy gravity on
>All omega stages
>2-4 stock, depending on who is fighting
all items except smash ball, master ball, and pokeball off. set high to master/pokeball
random stage
No Temple, New pork city, or god forbid Palutena's Temple.
As an unspoken rule I follow if I'm dominating too hard I need to switch to someone I'm not familiar with. It's no fun when the same character wins every time.
>>330271158
All items except Smash ball off
Random Omega + select stages like Smashville
2 stock
It's usually very fun.
when we don't feel like just doing 1v1 practice
>20 stocks
>damage ratio 2.0
>FIGHT PIT
>>330271158
>3 stock
>no items
>no custom fighters outside of Miis
>stage pick rotates around each person, anything goes
>Hyrule Temple is the default for huge group games
>no character restrictions
>any strategy goes; if you're spammnig or using flowchart bullshit, then I need to adapt and strategize accordingly
>no pity stocks; if you fuck up and SD, you fucked up; climb out of the pit you dug yourself
>turning healing items on
shiggy diggy
FFA, Omega Stage only, no items.
it's boring as fuck, i always suggest to change to choose random non-omega stages (obviously banning the shitty ones), get neglected because some of them are try hards as fuck
No items, 2vs2 or 3 people FFA
The items in this game are so boring.
Fox only no items final destination
>>330271158
4 stocks, no items, tourney maps are the only rules my friends and i like to play.
>5 stock
>all items on except the 1-up flag thing and the gust bellows
>all stages on
>random stage
>random characters
>>330271158
depends who's there
guy 1
>kinda shitty at the game
>opts no items, is fine with most items on low
>2 lives
>customs off
>stages turn or free-choose, almost always go with tourney legals (is garden of hope legal?)
guy 2
>despite being a complete moron, rolldodging, and generally having no thought to his playstyle, he still beats me somehow
>opts items
>3 lives
>damage ratio 1.5
>wishes I'd let him turn on customs
>stages turn, always picks garbage like pirate ship and Hyrule 64
4 stocks, any stage, items on high but Mr. Saturn only. Ostracize the person that started the match before changing to stocks from time.
>>330274053
when I let everyone pick their own items, there is an unspoken rule that anyone who picks the heart is an assblasting faggot
maxim tomato is alright, but we still will talk shit
No items. 4 stocks.
Boring I know. We'll play any stage but most times no one actually wants to play clusterfuck stages. Except pokefloats.
>>330274890
>Ostracize the person that started the match before changing to stocks from time.
This
it's an important step in the smash process
