I played Quake Live yesterday
it's still there
no gore hurt more that game than it seems. People just don't like bland shooting in a shooter game.

I played the multiplayer alpha for months
Downloaded it using getRight on my ISDN 64kbps connection
I lurked quakeworld forums for months
I bought it on launch night
It is in my top five games of all the time
Still best FPS IMO

I used to play QL a lot 4 years ago, now its just fucking dead except for some veterans/pros that still play.

Now we can only hope UT4 its gonna be what UT3 couldn't, and hopefully bring a new era of glorious arena shooter activity.

I remember it damn well,part of why im so excited for the doom reboot,when i played the alpha it was like a mixture of quake 3 and unreal tornament,but yes i remember i think it 2000 playing it almost everyday with shit tons of "rocket" matches where there was nothing but blood and rockets and players flying the fuck around lol.

the stigma surrounding quake and UT to a lesser extent is ridiculous
any retard can pick up and play them they are very flexible games which can be enjoyed at any level

it should be a close ranged weapon but with the spread as it is its too adept at mid range
item pickup timers, not clock. showing seconds on the clock is not as big of a deal but i still prefer :xx

I remember playing Rocket Arena 3 which was fun as fuck skating around a map and 360 railgun sniping people with midair shots from 1km away.

Vanilla quake 3 was fun on LAN with friends but not much else.
