I'll admit, this is the first time I've ever considered playing an MMO, so if by saving the genre you mean reaching out to a new audience, then yes, you are correct.
Some of the animations look like ass, the combat and walking looked alright, but those talking animations look as forced and robotic as it gets.
Another important question is: Customization is clearly a big thing with custom characters and the ability to create things in the world, but where is the line drawn? If the screenshots after the part where they show the world building is anything to go off of, the world building aspect is pretty in depth, but what about character customization, what classes and races can there be? What magic and weapons can be used? How different are these weapons and what strats can be used with them?
Basically what I'm saying is, how much do we actually know about the game and where can I learn more?

Personally I hope that in that time they fixed the issues you mention, animations, also shadows etc. For combat you catch monsters.
