Which souls game has the best hub world?

>The Nexus from Demon's Souls
>Firelink Shrine from Dark Souls
>Majula from Dark Souls 2
>The Hunter's Dream from Bloodborne
>>
nexusor Majula
>>
>>330053093
As much as I thought DaS2 was mediocre, I really liked Majula and the Nexus the best. Something about the Nexus is ultracomfy.
>>
Majula has best music.

Come at me.
>>
>>330053093
Well I can tell you right now that Firelink Shrine definitely isn't it
>>
Dark Souls because it's integrated into the world the best.

Or Bloodborne for max comfy.

I think I like the Hunters Dream most.
Everything is close and easy to get to.
I would say The Nexus, but those fucking stairs man.

Firelink=Hunters Dream>Nexus>Majula
>>
The Nexus since it's the only real one.
Aside from that even if the others were actual hub worlds I can say that I hated firelink shrine, it felt kinda thrown there without much thought (I'm referring to the general aesthetics.
Really the lesss memorable of the three, Majula was a really nice place even though it drives you to think that the rest of the game won't be a total mess.
>>
>>330053716
How many times have you fallen off them?
>>
>>330053093
Nexus and Hunters Dream are nice and serene, being separate from the rest of the game. Nexus had the greatest amount of NPC's in it to, which is a huge bonus.

Firelink is ok as a hub, but being part of the world and connected to Burg, Lower Burg, Parish, Catacombs, New Londo, Blighttown and Valley of the Drakes was really cool, and arriving there after departing in the opposite direction hours ago was a brilliant moment that helps make sense of the structure of the world.

Nexus is the best "homebase", but Firelink is the best hub because it leads to everywhere in a natural way rather than teleporting.

I havnt played DaS2
>>
Say what you will about Dark Souls 2, but nothing beats Majula.
>>
>>330053405
I found Majula's music to be grating after a while.
>>
>>330053889
Only a few times.
You just got to go up 4 floors to get to the online stuff
>>
>>330053093
Majula and Nexus are tied for me.
>>
>>330053093
They're all actually really well done.

-except- the Hunters Dream.

Bloodborne totally missed the mark on the hub. The only NPC in there is the Doll, since Gehrman fucks off for easily 90% of the game, and they instead made Oeden Chapel the "NPC Hub" but Bloodborne didn't really have interesting NPC's or thigns like trainers and shit.

I like the Nexus a lot, the NPC's adjust well throughout the game.

I think Firelink was good, but maybe a bit too... safe? Bright? There was something about it that made you feel safe and it offers a bit of respite.

I like Majula a lot because it feels very desolate, but still feels safe like Firelink. I think the larger size helps, and the houses actually make it feel like it was once at least a reasonable settlement.
>>
majula was just a dingy little village. it wasn't interesting. it wasn't even comfy because there were enemies there.

hunter's dream, while the best conceptually, was too small. there's nothing to explore. also the lack of NPCs, while it makes sense in the lore, also makes it feel too lonely.

firelink shrine is the best overall. lots of NPCs, stuff to explore, comfy location. nexus is a strong runner-up and has the best visuals.

firelink > nexus > dream > majula
>>
Demon's Souls is best hub world by FAR. Best NPCs, most comfy music, cool effects in general (the magic that keeps the ground solid is fucking cool) and a unique setting. Bloodborne's a close second but I dislike how the hub world in bloodborne works against its world design. Firelink isn't a hub world and majula is fucking annoying because the NPCs are lifeless and the emerald herald is fucking annoying

Majula = Nexus > Firelink > Dream

The "I actually played the games" official tier list
>>
>>330053093
Firelink = Nexus > Dream > Majula
Majula would be better but that 5 second loop called a "soundtrack" is mind-raping.
>>
I enjoyed FLS quite a bit because by the end of the game you have the feeling of loneliness as all the NPCs you were introduced to all wander off to do their own thing and die.
In the end it's just you and that unprotesting firekeeper
>>
>>330053969
I dislike majula because everything looks so fucking shitty and run down in a really bad sense. The Nexus wasn't meant to serve as a resting place, but rather as a transportation tool, so that makes sense. Firelink shrine is severely run down and was not meant to be used as a resting place either. The hunter's dream looks very comfy and well suited for rest. Majula, though, is just a shitty town with broken buildings, for no reason other than the fact that the dark souls 2 design team decided that everything has to be run down to be thematically fitting.

>Hub world

>Killing them yields absolutely no reward in the case of the pigs
Bravo B Team
>>
>>330053093
The Nexus is best considering it's the only actual hub world.
>>
>>330055289
They were pretty out of the way. No worse than the skeletons right next to firelink.
>>
>>330055003
>bonfire
>not a resting place
>>
Nexus by far. Not even a DeSfag and I can admit this.
>>
>>330053093

Majula > Firelink > HD > Nexus
>>
>>330055403
Bonfire is not a house with a carpet and books and tools.
>>
>>330055592
Better add some other shit so that post doesn't look stupid.
>>
>>330055003
now that i think about it, i don't know whether it's odd or appropriate that the hunter's dream has no bed. on the one hand, it seems like hunters would rest there, on the other hand, who needs sleep in a dream?
>>
>>330055703
Oh I'm sorry that my criteria for a resting place include housing and therefore mean that the hunter's dream feels like a better resting place than a bonfire out in the open.

>>330055748
I think it's very intentional, because a bed in the hunter's dream would raise too many unnecessary questions.
>>
For me, the nexus because of nostalgia.

Hunter's dream is pretty good too.

Firelink shrine from DasIII looks great.
>>
>>330053093
Nexus, easily. Going back there felt like going home after a journey, and seeing all the people you've helped gathered was pretty neato. Yuria being all moe, Urbain and Freke shit-talking each other, Ostrava and Biorr popping in, MiB in general.

Hunter's Dream had too little going on for it to compete. Firelink Shrine felt too uncanny to be comfy. But at the same time Hunter's Dream having anyone else there wouldn't have really worked, and it did give a sense of ownership in a way which comes into play very nicely. And Firelink seeming a bit too perfect and enticing was because that's exactly what it was. Majula was neat but its whole effect was lost because I didn't really care about any of the NPCs.

Nexus easily had the most charm, which is what I think it comes down to.

>You have a heart of gold. Don't let them take it from you.
>>
>>330055748
Why would hunters rest in a workshop?
>>
>>330055289
There was a reward for escorting one of those pigs to Tseldora, actually.
git gud
>>
>>330056525
it's not just a workshop, it's got a fireplace and bookshelves and a little table with a drink. you bet hunters rest there.
>>
i fucking love firelink shrine

its just so comfy and so many ways to get there

its awesome, it halso has vendors and everything pretty close to it
>>
>>330056702
That pig is in tseldora though, not in majula, you retard
>>
>>330053093
Firelink shrine, no contest.
>>
>>330056703
That all came after Laurence shut it down and Gehrman started drinking alone and collecting books about maidens.
>>
>>330056748
There's two in Majula, retard.
>>
>>330053093
Eh, they all have their good sides. I enjoy them all just as much.
>>
Nexus.
Does firelink shrine even count as hub?
It's a pretty comfy place but doesn't really function well as hub.
>>
>>330053849
>I can say that I hated firelink shrine, it felt kinda thrown there without much thought (I'm referring to the general aesthetics.
