Rockstar San Diego are the studio behind the RAGE engine that is used for all Rockstar games. There is actually a working PC build of RDR in existence, they just won't release it. They can into PC and they used to but they refuse to allow their own games on PC anymore because of piracy.
I heard it'll never be on PC primarily because they struggled to get it running stable on consoles. That's just two systems. Now think about the mix-and-match that is PC - they just decided fuck it, it wasn't their time, money, or stress.

I bought GOTY edition but fuck me if I wouldn't also buy a PC version. If the game at LEAST ran well it would be no problem, but the fucking thing constantly lags in cutscenes and runes sub 30fps most of the time. Not to mention that it looks super outdated
I can play MGR on console which looks a hundred times better and is always at a smooth 60fps. Black Flag looks gorgeous and I never notice any fps dips like I do with RDR. Fucking Rockstar did such a hack job with the game's optimization and you kucks don't want a new port that fixes that shit
