I spilled soup on this laptop, and if I put it to sleep it immediately wakes back up. If the keyboard drivers are installed, the shift-key is always down, but in months-gone-by it was any number of letters, and some still worked.

I know this because one of my dorm mates back in college was a bio major who worked with mice in the uni sleep lab and was testing for that very thing [incidentally dim red lights are good to have around while you sleep], and because he had this bright blue desk clock that would shine directly at me while I slept, or tired to sleep. When I pointed this out to him pic related was his reaction. he apologized and let me put a book in front of the clock when I went to sleep [significantly later than he did]
