I got this game the other day. Have just been playing single player stuff. My thoughts so far:
>On higher difficulties, it feels like the AIs cheat like crazy, especially in events. They obviously read your inputs, but they also seem stronger or faster. Maybe it's just because there's usually lots of them ganging up on you.
>Even though I've played all the other smash games, it's really only just occurred on me how finicky the tilt/smash system is, maybe because I never really cared about doing tilts in other games. Maybe there's a better way I don't know about, but it feels like you can never get tilts out quickly, because inputting the direction too quickly will make you do a smash instead. I even set my c-stick to do tilts because of this.
>There's the similar problem with walking/dashing. The input to walk is much slower (as far as I know) because doing it too quickly makes you dash instead. This is a problem because in this game dashing seems to put you at a huge disadvantage, since the only A-move you can do is the dash attack, and it takes ages to stop. Once you dash you have basically committed to getting an attack in or you're gonna get fucked. I understand now why Melee players love wavedashing so much, since it lets you move quickly while having so many more options available.

You might want to incorporate pivot ftilts to read ledges, especially since with Smash you can secure kills. You definitely want to be using Speed often which you say you do, and getting kills with Jump is another good idea. Unless you meant Buster, you should be using Smash to finish off stocks that way you don't need to rely on unsafe Smash attacks at high percents. Buster is good if you're up a stock to build on as much damage as possible to them. Shield has uses but you're better off with other ones if you can help it. I don't main Shulk so I can't go more in depth.
