Average. Good at being fucking annoying with lasers and beyblades and has OK kill options, but suffers from his large size coupled with his weight. He's combo food the moment you let someone in. Not quite as bad a someone like Bowser, obviously.

Uptilt is common too, but you can usually DI out after 2-3 hits.
A worse combo is jump, jump again and down air to back air. It's not terribly hard to avoid but it's incredibly safe to spam unless your opponent has a decent projectile.

He's easy to play as, abuse his fair and nair, know when to land a sweetspot bair (dodging past someone and then using it can be great), up air is great too, but don't ever use dair.
Don't spam PK fire either, just use it when you KNOW it will land. PK flash should be used sparingly but is good for pressuring recovering people. Remember to turn around because a PK flash will go further behind you.
Down smash and up smash probably won't ever land you a kill but are generally good damage moves, they are safe and fast.

It's actually a great kill move but you usually have to be clever with it. I like to connect the thunder to me at the same time as my opponent tries to punish me for PK thunder-ing because Ness turns into a giant hitbox and kills extremely fucking early. So satisfying.
Also dair has just too much of a slow startup to ever be useful, you can get lucky and land a spike with it but that's rare. You usually just get punished for trying. There's usually better alternatives, like even just fast-falling and using nair is better.

My number one main is Lucas for his delicious aerials coupled with very low landing lag and PK thunder 2 set-ups, he has some decent combo potential
Number 2 is Samus for being fun to play as, but I have to avoid several of her moves sadly. She actually has a bunch of semi-guaranteed combos that are pretty good, especially if playing on a stage with platforms.
Third is marth because the tip is fun.

THIS was Sakurai's idea of bringing "combos" back. How fucking out of touch is he? The game is fucking boring because of this. No room for improvising combos, you HAVE to follow the flowchart because the lack of hitstun won't let you do anything else.
Fuck this game. I'm glad I played it a lot on a friend's Wii U, because I wanted to get one just for Smash 4 but fuck that. Not worth it at all. Melee and 64 are still way better and more fun. Even the fucking items are better.
