With 3DS getting hacked and all I thought it would be the right time to get one. Which model should I go for? I understand New 3DS XL has some small improvements but is it actually worth the extra money or should I just go for the regular 3DS XL?

Honestly, most games on the 3DS "look" amazing, but then suck when you actually play them. I can't spend $40 on a wish and a prayer every time I want a new game. Not to mention that the 3DS hardly has demos, and when they do, they are either distributed with download codes or have limited uses.

You're correct. You need to use Rxtools on your 3ds.the reason for it is the you need the 3ds to decrypt, which is why there's not an all in one program to just convert it for you.
