None of the Great Ones resembled a dog in the slightest, not even Moon Presence, to whom the Beast Plague is supposedly linked to.
Kin/Ebriatis/Kos all have their own vaguely sea creature aesthetic with tentacles and whatnot, but we've yet to see anything else that looked quite like the darkbeasts do.

He doesn't 'have' dreams, he just still exists in the nightmare. Dreams aren't like dreams for us, they're separate realities, Micolash projected his being into one of these realities (using the power of Mergo and all those sacrifices). He fully exists there, even though his body is deader than dead.
