When you reach level 10 and get to Gran Soren, then you can change vocation to Warrior.

I'm working on modifying Dragon's dogma and extracting the japanese voice files out of the ps3 version of the game which is pretty easy but I've run into a brick wall.
On the pc version of the game they keep all the audio in these .pck files and I've never had any sort of interaction before messing with this and was curious if anybody who did wanted me to upload the japanese voice files to finish the job. I also believe I've figured out how to reimplement the Berserk armor into the game but I'm unsure how it unlocks in the game so that's a bit of an issue as well but I might get around to doing that once I learn the game a bit better.

You use Rift Crystals to purify cursed items you find in BBI, and the Tier 2 and 3 items are really expensive. Renting out your Pawn is the best way to get RC.
And trust me you'll want those BBI weapons and armors, because even the basic enemies in that place are tougher than anything found in the base game.

Well you're in luck because the game starts in the character creator. But since you ask you can start pawn creating after you reach the Encampment. Which is like 3 minutes away from your home town. And then completing the first mission there which takes like 7 minutes.

It doesn't make it unplayable for me but then I don't game on PC. I doubt my laptop could even run DD. But for someone who plays consistently plays 60 fps or even 30 fps games I can see why they wouldn't play, the game studders a lot. I know if I played a fighting game where the frame rate dipped below 15 fps I'd never touch it again.

Again it depends on situation. For example when fighting Billy and Jimmy in the double dragon room. If the Frostwyrm casts Bolide and the other dragon is breathing fire and one of the Sorcerers is casting something the game is going to have a meltdown. It's just how it goes the game can't handle that much at the same time. When the game is running well it's fucking great. But when too much starts happening the game chugs. Now it's not as big a deal for me since I mostly run either Assassin or Ranger so I can dodge roll until things calm down but for other players it's a lot.

No that isn't how it works. The game has periodic checkpoint markers where you respawn after death. Normally the checkpoints are just after entering an area. Which is why you don't start in front of the 3 Eliminators in front of Diamon's door after dying to them, you start all the way back at the front door with all the Eliminators back in their former places. Or when you go through BBI's sewers, get kicked off a ledge and after to restart the area. So yes you are lying your ass off to start shit.

If you try and rush the main quest you might be locked out of content, if you explore you will be overleveled for the main quest. Pick your poison. The main quest also has several phases and some things change in the world with each phase, mainly character dialog and available quests though.

Pawn trading. So the game has what's called Pawns that are basically AI helpers. The Pawns are idiots but they slow learn things about the world around them, enemies, and even one or two of your traits for example if you take to grabbing enemies a lot then the pawns will start getting grab happy too.
This can work against you sometimes though. Like when you're the type to grab an enemy but you have a magic based pawn so your pawn will start grabbing enemies too instead of casting magic like you want it to.

So I am attempting to modify the game in order to inject the japanese voice files, but the biiiiiig issue is the files that are used on the ps3 version are encrypted .bin files. as far as I know the only realistic way to achieve extraction into an audio format is on Linux so I'm at a loss here. Everything else is simple to get around but this is the wall I don't think I'm going to be able to pass. If any anon's think they can unencrypt the .bin files I will explain everything I've done up to this point and what to do after.

I played it when Dark Arisen came out and /v/ was hyping it up. I was pretty disappointed. At the time, the game looked like it was 10 years old, and much of the game played like it was 5 years old. The discrepancies would only be worse now.

It removes the drab look a bit. I won't say it's finished but I like it and I feel it's objectively improved as it doesn't go overboard with filters like the other one I saw posted.
I'm not sure what kind of umph I need to add. Levels makes dungeons too dark and they're already calibrated really well, bloom makes the sky way too bright as it's also calibrated really well, and AO just looks buggy most of the time.
Feel free to tweak it and I hope you find something in any case.

In your DD folder, go to nativePC/sound/stream/bgm/wave2. There's a single file in there called Tittle_DDN.sngw. Drag and drop the file into that folder, and rename it to Tittle_DDN. The wind will now be pushing you.

The frame rate didn't bother me in Dragons Dogma (Maybe because I never rolled with a magic class.) Having things run slightly faster is a plus, sure but it's not the thing I look forward too the most, it's the fact that the fucking letterboxing is gone.
