I can admit that I didn't give it too much of a chance, I only got to Santa Monica and did the first few quests and uninstalled the game. But I am not even close to reinstalling it ever again.

It was all Activision's fault, who did a blind code-freeze in an embarrassingly incomplete state they didn't care about, with game-breaking bugs they never bothered checking because they never did QA for, despite loud and clear messages from the development team that this will be a disastrous launch.

And even if you do relocate, how do you set up your disappearance in such a way that everyone will just accept it, assuming you're not some master spy who's ready to fake his own death as required?

yeah, just look up vtmb unofficial patch. I believe 9.3 or 9.4 is the most recent. I recommend using the basic version of it. Also, depending on what platform you're running it on you may need to do a small workaround to get it going

I haven't heard much good about mods but there's unofficial patch plus, clan quest, camarilla edition, final nights, and antitribu off the top of my head. Unofficial plus is probably the one that's closest to vanilla, just has some rebalances, restored content (of varying quality) and a lot of restored soundtracks (but many are questionably placed unfortunately)
