I believe Double Dragon Neon does this, at least on the 360.

Apparently it's something made to screw with the people who like to have even points or something like that, because the amount of points it gives you is odd, and the only way to make it even again is by acquiring the achievements after you beat the game.

Devs just want to see ho many people tried their game so they can compare it to the amount that beat the first boss.
