Here's something you'd probably not notice.
The starting class you pick also decides where your stats are spread. And when you level up, your class decides where stat points are placed.
Don't worry about it too much though, items account for 80% of stats. It's more for if you want to min/max.
Also for fast playstyles and weapons, the Assassin is fucking strong. It's commonly argued to be the strongest class in the game without question.

Weapons are pretty standard fair there are swords, daggers, greatswords, several kinds of bows, shields, and staffs. Generally speaking each class gets 2 of these I'd recommend starting strider since it has daggers (which feel really fast) but also a bow and is fairly well balanced all around if I remember right. You can change class at will later on so don't stress too much about it and make sure to explore the world.

Can't speak for everyone but my favorite bits were the bosses, the world, and pawns. Boss monsters are huge and you can climb on them instead of just hacking at their ankles. So you can do stuff like blinding a cyclops or cutting off tails or crippling wings plus there's a pretty big variety of monsters. The world felt really big but still detailed to me and it had a bunch of diverse environments. Plus night time is actually serious instead of just inconvenient. It gets noticeably darker so you're restricted by your lantern and more monsters come out. So exploring is super fun only drawback is the less than stellar fast travel system. Pawns are basically your companions and you get to make one that levels up with you but you can recruit up to 2 more pawns from other players' worlds. You get rewards for having your pawn recruited and pawns share knowledge across playthroughs. So if you're unsure of where to go on a quest one of your pawns might know because they've done it. This includes your pawn since it learns while in other worlds. Downside is you don't have much control over them and once you've played for an hour you no longer need to be reminded that wolves hunt in packs. Aside from that story isn't really notable but it doesn't get in the way either and combat is above average but not terribly deep in my experience. It also has tons of end game content but only if you enjoy killing bosses. It's easily worth the $30 pricetag.
tldr climbing on monsters is fun and the world is super cool

You don't get those mods on MT framework games though, at the absolute BEST you will get textures/sound replacers and MAYBE model replacement, and that's a big maybe because you have to luck on out someone being autistic enough to convert their tools to work with this game's models.
Anyways it wouldn't stop you from hooking a script extender if you could even do that in the first place, because you aren't accessing the portion of code that Denuvo protects (which is the Steam DRM or any internal copy-protection features. The second you try to hook into that code, it'll force it to unhook right back out, or crash, depending on how the game handles it. That's the code you're not allowed to touch.

Yes, but where the garden is extremely easy to sprint through. Midnight Helix is very difficult. Further, where you absolutely can fight enemies in the first map, you can't effectively fight the gargoyles in Midnight Helix. They will have too much armor for you to do any damage at low levels.

i5 3570k with GTX 770 4 GB currently running the game at 4k with DSR downsampling to 1080p.
60 fps in dark areas with nothing happening.
45 fps in calm areas with lightning, shadows and some creeps/npcs like pic related.
sub 30 fps when shit hits the fan.
