I didn't play Asylum, I started with City and ended with Origins. I am informed about the events that happened there but for example I didn't know that Scarecrow's face was eaten by Croc. Is it worth to play?

Asylum is arguably the best game in the series since it doesn't have a shitty sheohorned open world and instead plays like a Metroidvania with 100% hand crafted levels instead of generic autogenerated city.
