The Incom T-65 X-wing is the fighter that killed the Death Star.

An almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive sheilds, makes this the fighter of choice for Rogue Squadron, except when the mission profile disallows it.

In addition to 4 blaster cannons, the X-wing can carry a number of proton torpedoes. It's power by 4 fusial trhust engines, and requires an on-board astromech droid for peak performance.

32v32 players, sometimes more. The space battles were amazing.

that game was a decent rogue squadron clone

I don't think rogue squadron 64 has aged that well though. All the fighters just fly through waypoints like their own tracks until you shoot them down. Rather than actively trying to hunt anyone they just hope you're dumb enough to fly in front of them. Turrets and walkers on the ground felt like the only realy threat. It's still fun it just isn't as hard as I remembered it.

it was pretty good, more story oriented though still had replayability and tons of unlocks, but factor 5 took a lot of liberties with some craft like the police fighter, the bomber, and the speeders. >>
>>322984368
>You could assume the empire's cutting back on costs or something
That's retarded. The interceptor was the TIE fighter's upgrade but still cheap. There were only a few in Jedi because they had recently gone into production but by the time TFA rolls around they should be the standard. It would be like the rebels going back to using Y-wings to "cut costs". You don't see people using VCRs anymore because DVD/Blu-ray players are dirt cheap so there is no cost advantage.

>>322985530
The K-wing is one of the most recent starfighters produced by Koensayr for the New Republic's ongoing conflicts with the imperial remnant forces and other threats. Descendants of the y-wing, k-wings first appeared during the black fleet crisis 16 standard years after the battle of yavin, and have been mobilized for nearly every subsequent conflict. The k-wing's ideal mission profile involves close-range, precision bombardment of planetary targets, space stations, or slow-moving capital ships. However, it is also a competent escort fighter and short-range reconnaissance vehicle.

A lot of famous Rebel pilots were actually former Imperial pilots that defected after Alderaan's 6 million dead. They did get a fair bit of support from a number of systems like Mon Cal. I don't think they were ever as big as CIS though.

>>322986913
I couldn't remember what a winnebago was until you said this. Thanks. May the schwarz be with you.
>>
>>322986578
I think Star Wars is extremely misleading, because what the situation most likely is is that the Rebel Alliance is a group/conglomerate of planets and people who openly defy the Empire and live outside of it's jurisdiction, or live within it's jurisdiction but carry enough firepower between the group of them to stop the empire from going full Scorched Earth on them.

What most people see the Rebels as is a guerrilla group operating under cover to overthrow the empire. So if you see the Rebel Alliance as the first theory, it makes more sense.

The movies weren't revolving around the battles so of course it wouldn't show that, but the fact they got to fucking Coruscant and were fighting above it in 3 should have given you an idea of their strength since you're already aware it was the heart of the Republic.

>>
>>322990124
The Interceptor is straight up better than the Fighter in literally every way. Faster, more maneuverable, more guns, can carry missiles without modifications, smaller and harder to hit. There is no reason to go back to the Fighter unless you have no choice.

This is a Corellian YT-1300 freighter. I don't know where this ship came from, but it is NOT within the set parameters for a civilian transport. It has been illegally modified with 2 quad guns, one mounted cannon, several escape pods, a completely new sublight engine, several stealth and communications jamming additions and a large secret cargo area. Not the prettiest ship, but an excellent choice...if you're a smuggler.

My source is pic related. Does that fall under non-canon EU? It takes place during the original trilogy.

>>
>>322990991
Even if we're going by the films they have a harder-to-hit profile from the side and yes they do shoot 4 lasers instead of 2. You know there's a ton of canon design documentation for these things that doesn't make it into the movie for the 2 seconds they appear but does into the games right? It wasn't just a bunch of devs getting high and making it up.

They wouldn't have been able to Thrawn movies because Luke/Leia/Han are too young at that point in the timeline

They could've at least not abolished the EU and then cannibalized ideas from it anyway

Kylo is basically Jacen Solo with every cool quality and development taken away from him.

>Jacen and Jaina train as Jedi under Luke

Did you forget that Lucas did the same shit in Episodes I, II, and III? Every single ship we saw in the prequels was direct predecessor of a ship in the OT, with only minor differences or being an obvious expy. Thee wasn't a single unique design in the entire PT. If anything VII was following this time-honored tradition.
