This high end TV is $1,499
People are crying that the Oculus Rift is too expensive at $599

one in my living room and one in the bedroom
>he isn't playing PC games at 4k

What's the point of it being curved? It would suck if your friends have to watch it from the sides
>>322970205
Give me some money, brah.
>>322970416
Oddly enough, you don't really see the curve. Against my wall, even from the sides, it's just fine

how good the TV is isn't point you thick fuck.
People bitching about the price of VR when it costs as much as a competent budget TV/Monitor
>>322969316
4K TVs are just a scam aren't they? There's almost zero 4K media right now. I could only see them as useful if you hook up your SLI 980Ti desktop to them. And even then, why a TV, why not a monitor?
>>322969316
$599 is too much for a gimmick that will be dead in five years.
>curved displays
curved televisions
curved.
televisions.
>>322969316
OP what are you doing comparing an expensive gimmick with another expensive gimmick?
>>322969316
28" 4k Monitors start at 599...

>tfw no response
>>322969316
Fuck this. Fuck you.
I have to pay $1100 if I want to get a headset bundled with a pointless controller, pointless remote and audio that I don't need?
I cringed at the Vive's delay being due to a inbuilt camera but this is the next level of pointless bullshit.
>>322970869
This. Early adoption is a terrible idea. You overpay for hardware you will under-utilize.

>poorfags whining about Rift RC
>don't bother snapping up the $120 kikestarter devkit or $200 second devkit on ebay,
>both have much smaller system requirements
>>322970397
4K basically becomes a nice AA filter if you sit 10 feet away from your TV. Much better to spend the cash on OLED or bigger sizes.
>TV
>100% required to watch TV, console games, DVDs, etc.
>Occulus
>An experimental peripheral that isnt needed to play games
>>322969316
Tv you will use a lot
Peripheral you will use twice maximum
You choose
>mfw my friend uses his 4k TV as a monitor
>says it "looks great"

I remember when 3D Smart TV's were 5k+ here in Australia for a 42 inch model.
I got mine for 800 bucks not even 3 years later.
Now they're selling TV's with Android built in for 2k+. Give it another year and it'll be half the price.
