How are you supposed to know that giving a s ton of humanity to the Fair Lady unlocks a shortcut for which there is no prior mention, and that it is key to save a certain NPC whose fate you can't predict right off the bat?
I mean blind playthrough, no guides.
Miyazaki is probably going to drop more of this shit in Dark Souls 3. It's not big deal but we'll probably miss A LOT of content in our first playthroughs.

No it isn't
But most players want Solaire to die, so they can have his equips.
They usually do weird stuff like the Fair Lady quest in subsequent playthroughs.

That's the whole point you stupid faggot, you don't discover these things in your first playthrough, you either happen upon them, discover them yourselves or read a guide once you reach NG+.

I farmed humanity for her hoping she'd get better so I had unlocked the door in my first playthrough.
