So I'm replaying Earthbound these days. Not finished yet.
I would totally play a remake of this game.
Truly a brave opinion OP, keep it up and don't mind the trolls :^)
>remake
ENOUGH WITH THE REMAKES ALREADY DAMMIT REMAKES ARE THE CANCER KILLING THIS INDUSTRY TRY TO MAKE SOMETHING CREATIVE FOR ONCE IN YOUR PATHETIC EXISTENCE.
>>322896716
I think a remake would cause it to lose a lot of its charm.
>>322899012
How so?
>>322899037
its perfect the way it is, twat
>>322899147
While I agree that it is perfect the way it is, I would still play it if it was remade, as long as the right people are working on it.
>>322899037
I dunno, I guess I just like the old artstyle and sound effects. Most of the time remakes of old games result in too much modernization.
1 is the one that needs a remake. Would be the best mother game.
I never understood why people want remakes over sequels or remakes at all.
Wasn't one of the mottos around here about graphics not mattering?
I think I rather have a remake of EarthBound Beginnings/MOTHER 1, I tried playing it, I tried liking it, I just don't at all like it as much as I do EarthBound, and Mother 3, but I'm not asking for much, if it were to just be given an SNES-style treatment, I'd probably like it more, going back to older games in the franchise is sometimes harder if you've played the really solid games that came after.
>>322899232
I will ask you then, if it was remade today, what do you think will be changed?
>>322899439
It's a desperate bid to recapture the feeling they felt the first time they played the game.
I want a remake of this game as well, with a revamped Pk system (ness, paula, and Poo can teach each other Pk with the exception of rockin, with certain Pk buffing their base stats in various ways), a hard mode plus extra dungeons.
What a dumb fucking thread
>>322900282
>it's dumb because I don't like it
The hide button exists for a reason, you can go back to your shitposting threads now.
>game doesn't need a remake
>"I'd totally play a remake of this gaem!"
>>322896716
The only thing that needs fixing is the inventory.
Rest doesn't need to be remade.
>>322900545
whats this film? them?
>>322900857
Society by Brian Yuzna
>>322899570
There was a fan-made SNES style remake of Mother 1 in the works that looked very promising, though I'm not sure how far along it is or if it's even still being worked on.
>>322899401
I haven't played Mother 1 yet.I just bought it together with Mother 2 a few days ago.
>>322900237
A few extra dungeons would be great.
Maybe a little graphical upgrade too, while keeping the Earthbound feel.
>all these people bitching about the notion of EarthBound being remade
Why? Remaking games is about technically improving an experience so that a new generation can enjoy it.
EarthBound is a landmark game, but its gameplay has aged very poorly. I wouldn't go overboard, but Mother 3 shows the benefits that EarthBound could derive from some renovation. Just as long as it doesn't take the place of some other game.
>>322896716
Why are you namefagging?
>remake
When will this meme end?
>>322903874
Okay, I took it off. Yes, I am OP.
Now can we talk about video games.
>>322899749
not him, but there's some dated stuff there
actually some is an understatement, everyone knows how much pop culture gets referenced in earthbound, but I think the most obvious example of something that most new players today won't get is the guy in Onett that makes a joke about yesterday
>remake
only if it keeps the Peanuts style
fuck Smash Ness and Lucas
>Namefag with shit taste wanting normie standards such as muh remakes
Surprising no one.
Not OP but why is everyone opposed to Mother remakes?
>OST remixed
>overworld graphics that don't make your mind hurt with the perspective of everything
>beat battles
>changing bullshit 1/128 item drops to 3% like Mother 3
All that could go wrong is stylistic stuff like people's complaints in OoT, Majora, and the removed fog in Silent Hill HD
>>322904091
> Okay, I took it off.
Yes, but for what purpose you used one? For what reason?
>>322905346
because he's a newfag that thought his identity mattered
>they'll never remake xenogears with a proper disk 2
>>322904965
>retard spergs out on a videogame thread because he can only place his his thought on meme text
Wow anonymous fuck nugget #456 you sure showed him.
>>322899401
Fuck this is so right
>that encounter rate
No fucking way. Didn't reach the first town.
>>322905559
What happened to his eye
>>322905774
Glaucoma, the fluid in his eye didn't properly drain and the inner ocular pressure built up until he lost vision in the eye and it had to be removed
>>322903753
all remakes turned into complete shit.
Remakes are nothing but a meme that ruines the charm of the original game, and in any case. it just improves the fact that originals are better.
>>322906720
What about DuckTales remake?
>>322905151
The only improvements there i'd argue would be droprate changes. I can listen to remixed music (which is always of varying quality) any time I want off youtube, and the graphics are part of the game's charm. See how a "modern" interpretation of the game's looks could be horrible: Citizens of Earth.
Beat Battles aren't really needed since the game isnt balanced around it and it'd just be a lot of fiddly work to change hp values to reflect that.
It's just... fine. It doesnt have glaring issues that scream to be addressed.
I don't know about complete remake but a 3DS version would be cool
>>322896716
>remake
what is not broken doesnt need to be fixed
>>322905346
I'm doing it so I can look at my posts in the archive and see the people who replied to me and their replies.
Whenever I need to look something up I can easily do.
